"What a boring life..."

The words slipped quietly from the young man's lips as he stepped out of the convenience store, a small plastic bag containing chips and a bottle of soda dangling from one hand.

The automatic doors closed behind him with a soft chime.

He glanced around the quiet streets before letting out a weary sigh.

The evening air was cool, and the streets were beginning to grow quieter as people slowly made their way home.

Nothing unusual.

Nothing exciting.

Just another ordinary day.

"Another day, another gaming session."

Subaru continued walking down the road toward his home, occasionally kicking a small pebble along the sidewalk as his thoughts wandered.

He had gotten used to this routine.

Wake up.

Eat.

Play games.

Sleep.

Repeat.

There was nothing particularly wrong with his life, yet at the same time, there was nothing that made him genuinely excited to wake up the next morning.

As he walked, he began pondering his entire life.

"I wonder... if there's still a world where I could be happier?"

The thought lingered in his mind for a while.

He didn't exactly hate his life.

He simply felt as though he had already seen everything it had to offer.

While walking, he checked his phone and noticed a notification from one of his favorite games.

[𝙈𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙚] 𝙈𝙚𝙞: 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚?

Subaru's tired expression immediately softened.

"Ah... Such an angel. If only I could get someone like her..."

A small smile appeared on his face before disappearing just as quickly.

He remembered his high school years.

Back then, things had been different.

His grades had been high.

His skills in sports had been excellent.

He had even been relatively popular among his classmates.

For a while, Subaru genuinely believed that his future was already decided.

He would graduate.

Get into a good university.

Find a respectable career.

And eventually become someone his father could be proud of.

"I could become like Dad..."

He tightened his grip around the plastic bag.

"Slowly, I will get there!"

At least...

That was what he believed.

Until something drastic happened.

9/100

Subaru stared at the number written across his exam paper.
