"You son of a bitch! I have been loyal to you and you have done nothing but waste my time on pointless communication!" Spencer roared, his voice slamming against the walls.
What was I supposed to do? Apologize for a betrayal he was too blind to see coming? Maybe he should have guessed I was a double agent—that I never served any master but myself. But truthfully, I just did what anyone else would do to survive. I slung my bag over my shoulder, turned my back on his rage, and walked away from the table.
