You see, Lucius and Nick were actually separated about a year after their parents died. During that time, Lucius had started seeing things—things he couldn't explain. Strange creatures lurked in the shadows, and sometimes the faces of ordinary people would suddenly change into something else entirely. At first, he thought he was imagining it, that the grief from losing his parents was affecting his mind.

That was until their Aunt Marie sat him down for a serious conversation. She asked him a strange question:

"Lucius, have you ever seen people's faces change?"

When Lucius answered yes, Aunt Marie's expression immediately told him everything he needed to know. She explained the truth about the family business—the secret world that existed alongside the normal one. She told him about the Grimm legacy, the creatures known as Wesen, and the responsibility that came with being part of their bloodline.

Unfortunately, Lucius couldn't tell his twin brother any of this. The rules were clear, and the knowledge had to remain a secret until the proper time. Aunt Marie also came to the difficult realization that she couldn't raise and train both boys while keeping them safe. Wanting to give Lucius the best chance to survive in the dangerous world he had inherited, she contacted an old friend who agreed to mentor him.

From then on, Lucius spent years training. He learned how to identify different Wesen, track dangerous creatures, and protect innocent people from threats hiding in plain sight. Much of his time was also devoted to gathering rare ingredients and materials for a Grimm kit, carefully building a collection of tools that would one day help him in the field.

What made the whole situation rather amusing was that Lucius had secretly enrolled in the police academy as well. While training as a Grimm, he was also studying law enforcement. Through hard work and determination, he eventually graduated and rose through the ranks, earning a position as a detective.

Nick, however, knew none of this.

As far as he was aware, his brother was simply away, recovering and living elsewhere. Aunt Marie always reassured him that Lucius was doing well and getting better, but she never revealed the full truth. The only connection the twins maintained over the years came through letters. Every few weeks or months, a new letter would arrive, filled with stories, encouragement, and promises that one day they would see each other again.

Nick treasured every single one of them, never realizing that while he was reading those letters, his twin brother was living a double life—one as a detective and the other as a Grimm, preparing for the day their paths would finally cross again

rosalee and Lucius had actually dated years before the events of the show. Back then, their relationship had been strong, and despite the dangers surrounding them, they genuinely cared for one another. Lucius saw the good in Rosalee even when she struggled to see it herself, and Rosalee admired Lucius for his loyalty, determination, and willingness to help others.

However, things began to fall apart as Rosalee's life spiraled out of control. She found herself getting arrested multiple times, and her involvement with drugs only made matters worse. Lucius tried to help her at first. He stood by her side through countless mistakes, always believing she could turn her life around. But as the arrests piled up and Rosalee continued pushing people away, the strain on their relationship grew heavier and heavier.

Eventually, the pressure became too much.

One night, after yet another argument about her choices and refusal to accept help, the two of them got into a heated fight. Emotions were running high, and both of them said things they didn't fully mean. In a moment of frustration and anger, Lucius said something he regretted almost the instant the words left his mouth.

The look on Rosalee's face told him he had gone too far.

Unfortunately, Rosalee was every bit as stubborn and strong-willed as Lucius. Rather than stay and continue arguing, she walked away. Not long afterward, she made the decision to enter rehab and finally confront the problems that had been controlling her life.

Deep down, Lucius was proud of her for taking that step, but neither of them was willing to be the first to reach out. Both were hurt, both were stubborn, and both carried regrets they didn't know how to express.

As a result, they never spoke again.

Years passed without a single conversation between them. No phone calls, no letters, and no attempts to reconnect. Lucius threw himself into his work as a detective and Grimm, while Rosalee focused on rebuilding her life and becoming the compassionate, kind-hearted woman she would later be known as.

Even so, neither of them truly forgot the other.

Rosalee occasionally found herself wondering where Lucius was and whether he was safe. Lucius, meanwhile, sometimes caught himself thinking about her whenever he passed places they used to visit together. He often wondered if she had found the happiness and stability she had always deserved.

Neither would ever admit it aloud, but despite the years of silence, a small part of each of them still cared. The pain of their final argument had never completely faded, and the words left unsaid lingered between them long after they had gone their separate ways
