Chapter 56: Identity Crisis

Demons are supernatural entity that lives on a different parallel universe to other supernatural creatures due to their unexplainable traits and qualities which make it hard to stay in peace with others. They are beings that crave destruction, vengeance, control, sex and blood. They vary in different forms and stages which only the Noble, Elite and legends are able to tame their very nature to lead the lower levels and Lance from the looks of it most be a born Noble after all he has never went on a rampage before.

"What the heck! What do you mean I am a demon in origin? Those that even exist or are you just making this up to....." Lance rambled his eyes blown wide from shock and his body twitch more oftentimes in nerves.

"I am a dark fae by nature and if you want I can show you!" That shut him up immediately and he sat there on the couch flabbergasted his eyes gawking at her words before he opened his mouth and close unable to make words out and then he did it again and when nothing came but only a strangle "Huh!" Serene broke into a small laugh breaking the week of gloom they were going through before standing up without waiting for him to speak while Melvil with a small smile on his lips didn't say anything his eyes changing trajectory to his girlfriend.

The sound of bones pop and rearrange before abruptly large black feathered wings sprouts out of Serene backless short gown engulfing an entire span of the large penthouse space. Her skin shimmer with a silvery hue and her black hair darkened with a shimmer like black diamond under the sun. Her aura changed and the two could feel the roaring of their blood in the presence of something otherworldly, the beating of their heart a testament to her power their body recognize even if they didn't, before them stood a creature of power and royalty, intimidating and charming that she left Lance jaw on the floor in shock and amazement. Her majestic green eyes reminiscent of Jade under sunset stare at Lance with a quirky lip as if saying what she decide to voice.

"Do you believe me now?" She asked and before he could blink again her large wings furled back to their place in her body and her skin return to normal baffling Lance further.

"You....you could do that at will?" He sounded strangely like an excited kid his eyes shining as if seeing star for the first time.

"Of course I practiced that. So... how about you? Have you ever transformed? Even just a part of your body?" Serene sat back down and she asked him looking gently at him as if not to spooke him and rather ensure he feels safe to relate the information which he will surely after seeing her true self.

"I I could do that too? How? I've never experienced that...!" Melvil didn't expect he had ever get to see a different side of the cold and stoic personal assistant of his father he grew up with, excited and curious like a child. It must have been all the ones suppressed when they were younger. He wonders if he also act like this with Serene and he suddenly become jealous not wanting her to care for someone else more than him.

Serene couldn't come up with a reason why he hadn't transform other than maybe the age for adult is different with that of demons but he is supposed to be in his demon form before he learn to disguise his real self so the question is how is he able to be in his human form since childhood.

"You're initially supposed to be in your real demon form and later learn how to conceal it rather than growing in human form" Serene reasoned and they furrowed their brows in thought

"I don't know if you understand what am trying to say...!"

"Yes we do. So what does that mean? " Lance asked his eyes focused on her

"Let me check something, I have an assumption!" She walked closer standing before him and placed her hand on his forehead emitting a blue light searching for something and few seconds into it she saw what she was looking for, a dark green vine wrapped around his heart suppressing his true form.
