The Only Exception [Sequel to That Special Summer]

Chapter 3

"Okay are you rea- Oh my god. You look damn hot in that bikini." She said.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. What were you trying to ask?" 

"Nothing. I already picked my swim suit so it's all good. Are you ready?" She asked.

"Hold on." I quickly put on my blue t shirt then we head into Julia's car.

The ride was silent so I decided to put on some songs.

"Do you have an aux chord?" I asked.

"Uh yeah. It should be in that little box on the side." I looked at the box then got the aux chord.

I decided to play All Time Low's album, Future Hearts because it's my favorite album of them. The first song that played is Kids In The Dark.

"Yas bitch! This ma' shit!" Julia exclaimed. I laughed.

"They left us alone! The kids in the dark! To burn out forever! Or light up a spark! We come together! State of the art! We'll never surrender! The kids in the dark!" We sang and laughed together.

The songs went on and on until we're already at the beach.

We tried to find the guys and we spotted them.

Alex, Kennadi, and Kenneth are the only ones in the sitting area. The others are already swimming.

"Oh hey! You came!" Alex said.

"No shit, Sherlock." Kenneth fired. 

Alex rolled her eyes. "Ignore him. He's on his period." 

Kenneth chuckled. "Why are you still here then? Aren't you supposed to be swimming?"

"I... Uh... Just-shut up, Kenneth!" Alex said.

"Yeah well that makes two of us." He said.

"Wait what? You have peri-" 

"Okay first Julia, I don't wanna hear it and second, yes." Alex said.

Ugh. Periods. Thank god mine starts next month.

"Well anyways, I'm going to swim now." Julia said and head into the beach.

"Me, too. See ya, Al." Kennadi said.

"I'm gonna go to the store and buy something since I can't swim." Alex said and left.

Then there's me and Kenneth.

"Hey." I broke the silence. He didn't response.

Alrighty then

"I'm uh- I'm just gonna go swim." I said. Even though I don't know how to.

"I'll go with you." He finally talked. 

"Okay."

Then I took my t shirt off. Couple of boys wolf whistled and stared at me (more like my body) as soon as I took my t shirt off.

"Well damn, I didn't expect that." Kenneth mumbled. 

I just smirked then head into the beach. 

When Kenneth is in the deep part of the ocean, I stayed in the shallow part because boy, I don't know how to swim.

"Come here!" Kenneth shouted.

"I can't!"

"You still don't know how to swim?!" 

I just nodded. He sighed and swam towards me. "Here, I'll hold you." He said.

"No. I'm uh I'm okay." I whispered.

"Come on. We're not going to the deep part." He said.

Before I could say anything, two blonde girls are in the deep part then Kenneth started swimming towards them.

He probably knows them.

Then I was left alone. 

Ugh that feeling again. That feeling when you're trying really hard to be best friends with your friends but failed. 

That's what I'm feeling right now.

"Heyyy." Justin said.

"Hello, Justin." I smiled.

"Why are you here? They're all over there and you're the only one here." He said.

"Oh well uh..." I trailed off.

He chuckled. "Scared to go deep out into the ocean?" 

I nodded.

"Here. Hop on my back so we can go further." He said.

"But-"

"Hey no buts. Come onnn. So you can just see what it looks like." He said.

I sighed then I hopped on his back even though I barely know him. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms to his neck as he started swimming towards the group. 

He has two tattoos in his arms and that's it. Not like Kenneth who has 5 tattoos.

When we got there, I met a few people and they talked to me. I made a lot of friends, actually and they're really fun to talk to.

But for some reason, I couldn't help but search for Kenneth. I wonder what he's doing right now. 

There he is still talking to the two blonde girls that looked like ducks. The girls tried to talk to him but he just ignored them because he kept on staring at Justin and I. I decided to just ignore him and continued talking to my new friends. 

After a few minutes, we're done swimming and head to back to the sitting area.

While I'm walking, someone grabbed my arm. 

It was Kenneth.

"What?" I asked.

"You're coming to the party tonight." He demanded.

"Umm, hello? You're not my dad and you don't tell me what to do." I crossed my arms.

He laughed. "We both know you really want to see me."

Who the fuck does this boy think he is?

"Well, I'm not coming." I spat.

"Yes you are. Please?" He asked. I thought about it. It feels like I fell under his spell. 

I sighed.

I can't  fall for him. I promise that.

I seriously died like I was screaming at 3 am in the morning my dad woke up and got mad at me omg

I know this chapter is short but I'm probably going to be double updating today :)
