"[Reader], go find your sister!" a voice barked out from an upper chamber room inside the gleaming yellow palace of the Solaris Empire. The shining iridescence of the light cast through the windows of where one of the members of the royal family pivoted through the halls, turning their back away from the window.
"At once, mother." she replied with a small sigh, replying as each step she took, pulsed a faint yellow glow underneath her. It didn't take long until she ended up on the first floor of the place she resides on. Too many rooms to search, she thinks– closing her eyes and breathing in softly. Her consciousness leaves her body as a burst of a not so bright light shutters throughout the entire castle, sensing for her sister.
Bingo.
She weaved her way through butlers and guards, greeting them as the servants returned the formalities, for the princess was oh so kind towards them. She grazed through the marble palace up to the fourth floor.
She's tired, regretting the fact she didn't just light travel going up and walked the entire time. Taking a moment to catch her breath she leans against a perfectly curated pillar, sculpted to emit divine power, a symbol of the reign of the kingdom. Her hands linger on it a bit, sighing as she pulled away to barge in the room.
"Danica, mother is calling you. She's in.." [Reader] called out with a grumble, before pausing. She actually had no idea where mother was. "somewhere on the third floor."
"Gee, aren't you just the most helpful person ever?" Danica, their younger sibling drawled out as she gazed up at her older sister.
".. what in the name of Lucius are you wearing." Danica blurted out, hiding her mouth behind her lacey gloved hand, stifling a laugh.
[Reader] blinks, confused at the sudden statement as she dashed to check herself in a window's reflection.
She only wore a white long sleeve blouse, and white pants to accompany it. Black slacks that were worn, the ruffles of the blouse slightly torn.
Shit. [Reader] sheepishly looked down at her younger sister, who sighed with mock disappointment, and exasperation. The gaze of someone who's fed up with someone else's tomfoolery.
"Don't tell me you're doing that.. thing where you fight the air or something." Danica deadpanned, unamused.
She blinked, eyes narrowed and groaned. "It's not fighting the air. I'm trying to unlock more of my potential!"
[Reader] steps in a more spacious part of the room, eyes sparkling as she huffs. She raises her hands, fingers curling and positioning as she flicked her wrist, a small asteroid with star energy embedded to the rocky surface materialises, floating above her fingertips.
"This is so little of what I can do!" she beamed with ecstasy to her younger sister, her arms spread out open as if inviting her in, as the asteroid fades away.
"Imagine what else we could do if we–"
"Sister, enough.. mother will never allow us. Allow you." Danica steps forward, teeth grit as her hands sit idle over her dress. She exhaled and looked up at the person whom she looked up too much, as if it pained her to say the words that left her mouth.
[Reader] dims slightly, the light in her eyes flicker, dimming slightly. "You're right."
Hesitantly you fold your arms, hugging yourself as Danica steps past you. "I'm going to go now, mother seeks me you said."
And with that, Danica disappears into the hallway out of her living quarter. It's always been like that. All [Reader] can do, is sigh and retreat to her room.
