I love my work. No hint of sarcasm or joke.
I am a well known psychiatrist in my field, even a triple board passer. Yes, I am also a cardiologist and a general surgeon.
Ani Yesha. Assistant ko, never liked her. She likes to bend rules and disrupt the organization of things. But I kept her, she's a hard working nurse and she's the only nurse I trust because she's stupid and doesn't know anything.
"I told you many times that I don't want them to wait in my office. All outpatients wait in the lobby! Simple instructions." I said.
And she just smiled and gave me a lollipop. Jeez, how childish can she get?
And here goes my anxious brain.
The hell that kid is doing on my couch eating ice cream?!
I sighed, went to the sink to wash my hands thoroughly, sanitized my hands with sanitizer, and dried it three times before heading to my table.
Same routine, same order.
Dang, it took me many months to decide on changing the color of that rug.
I sat and smiled at the mother of the child. "Hi! Good morning, I'm Dr. Monteverde. Before anything else, I would like to ask you ma'am if you're with uhm another adult? Because that kid of yours is killing me." I said without hesitation.
I heard the mom gasp and glared at me. "Excuse me? What did my child ever do to you?!" She exclaimed.
I sighed and stared at the mom directly. "Well, he's dirtying my office and it stresses my brain. He's a complete mess and the mess has no place in my head."
She grabbed her bags and angrily looked at me. "I came here to have my son checked because I think there's something wrong with him, and I didn't know that the well respected psychologist is mentally ill too. Ipapatanggal ko lisensya mo!" Aniya at hinila ang anak niya palabas.
"Too bad tho, I don't work with kids. I will never be." I said quietly.
Well, I have a severe OCD and I also have Mysophobia. Things unorganized and dirty stuff gives me a hellish headache and a freaking anxiety. I grew up like that, I thought I was just obsessed with perfection but it turns out that I actually have a disorder. But that made me the best of everything.
I sighed. Again and again.
I went outside to look for Yesha. And there she is, flirting with patients. Geez, what a woman.
"Yesha?" I called.
She came to me with a wide smile... What a bright soul.
"I had a kid mess up my office and I'd like for you to stop sending patients in my office. Copy that?" I said seriously.
She smiled and nodded. "Copy doc!" Aniya.
This is a lot of work. Good thing I always buy in pairs.
