*A few hours later, in the evening*
(Sitting infront of the chimney, watching the fire crackle, the sisters and I are heating ourselves up before the cold night comes.)
A- So, Ella, I see this is your first time coming to this city. Well, according to my sister said just a few minutes ago.
(I nod along)
A- Well then, it's a good thing that Steve brought you here then. If you were left alone outside, who knows what might've happened to you.
C- It's a good thing that he came along before the monsters got to you, otherwise, we wouldn't even be speaking right now!
(I start to shake at the sound of that word)
A- Chica! Don't frighten her.
C- Ah, I'm sorry, mum. I'm sorry Ella, I didn't mean to scare you.
A- In any case, those monsters shouldn't even bother us, I've placed quite a few protective charms around the house, just in case one happens to pass by. Usually, we don't expect guests, so we don't have a guest room for you, but you seem like a nice girl, so I'll let you sleep in Chica's bed.
C- Yay! A sleeping buddy!
A- This way, whatever happens, we got a closer eye to you.
(I look at Anna, which she returns me back a smile with confidence, same with Chica. I hope nothing bad happens tonight)
*A few more hours passes by, the sun has set and the moon came out*
*In Chica's room*
(Woah, everything's so pink! The chairs, the table, the walls, even the bed!)
C- Ooookay! My bed is pretty big, so you can sleep on that side and I'll sleep on this side. Back to back, so I know if you're gonna leave for whatever! But before, you lay down, first let's get you out of those raggedy clothes! I think I've got some spare pajamas lying around around...
(I was expecting to see her have a spare pink pajama, I didn't think it would end up being white. Let's see if it fits..)
C- *Laying on the bed* Oh hey! Those fit you perfectly! You know, those belong to Mum. Well, those were her old clothes.
(Well, it's a bit tight on the chest, but I'll live.)
C- *Yawning* I'm starting to get sleepy, Elly.. Could you come to bed?
(I look at her with weary eyes, I guess it is late. I should rest up for tomorrow. Before I go to sleep, I make sure to turn the lights off and close the door as well as covering up the windows.)
C- Mmm.. Elly.. You smell like Mommy..
(I gently stroke her hair and fall asleep hugging her.)
*A few hours into the night*
(I wake up to the feeling of going to the bathroom, uh oh, this place is rather big, I should've asked Chica before she went to sleep to where the restroom was.)
(Carefully, I try not to wake up Chica whilst I'm getting off the bed.)
C- Mmm... Don't.. go..Zzz
(I gently stroke her again, hoping she doesn't wake up.)
C- Mmm.. Mommy..Zzz
(Looks like she still misses her mom, huh. Well, with that said, or rather "thought", I hope to be able to find the restroom fast.) (Each step I do, creaks the floor, more and more, I feel this uneasy feeling coming onto me.. Do monsters really appear? What kind are they? I hope they're not so bad..)
(Okay.. I think I'm in the hallway now. Now where is that bathroom... I sure hope none of these doors lead to outside, then again, if monsters really are outside, shouldn't it be better to check the windows..? As I went around the house, looking for a window, at first I see nothing out of the ordinary.)
(Huh, did they lie to me? I'm not seeing anything... Just as I was about to leave the window, I spot a dark, cape-like figure out in the distance. The moment I see it, I get the chills.)
(That's a monster..? Huh? It disappeared.. I tried to look around in the window and I can't find it anywhere. And right then and there, the moment I blinked, it appeared right next to the window.)
(It gave me such a scare, popping up suddenly like that, I fell loudly onto the floor and screamed while I'm still seeing.. that thing watching me with it's screwed up eyes. I can hear it's loud gasping and wheezing, as if he were right next to me.)
(Hopefully, Chica & Anna went outside of their rooms to check what was going on and they saw me, sprawling on the floor, with tears out of my eyes gasping for air as I were being murdered.)
A- Chica! Take her to the basement! Quick! I'll deal with this ugly mug.
C- Got it! Come on, Elly, follow me!
(I still couldn't tell what was going on, what just happened back there? Was that even a monster? It looked really dangerous. Now, all I do is try to follow Chica and ask her what's going on.)
*A few moments later, in the basement*
C- Okay, we should be safe now. Are you okay?
(I'm still gasping for air, trying to wipe off my tears from my face. I weakly try to nod that I'm fine.)
C- I don't sense any physical injuries on you, so given your nod, I think you should be fine. Now, I know that we didn't wanted to frighten you with the monster talk, but now, I think it should be appropriate for you to know about them.
There are two types of monsters that roam the nights, first are the crawlers. The crawlers are the type of monsters that you can physically see them in the night and that attack people. However, given they are quite weak, they generally aren't a problem, so a few charms should help repel those kinds of monsters. Now, what you must've seen was something called.. um, what was that called again.. ah well, let's go with specters. Those kinds of monsters are much more stronger than the typical crawler you see in the streets, those types of monsters roam the streets for people that has had a dark past and kill them. And so, when a person gets killed by those kinds of monsters, they transform into a sort of phantom-like cape that almost instantly teleports to the person that has seen them. On the bright side, the specters rarely appear in the nights and when they do appear, it's when they have sensed someone with an incredibly dark past. Then, they can't let go. I hope Mum doesn't get into much trouble, so while you're here, please under no circumstance, leave the basement. It is protected with a high affinity charm that repels even those of the highest caliber of monsters. I'll try to support Mum from my side and heal her wounds. Please, don't leave this room! If you ever come up, the monster can and will instantly teleport to you and kill you the moment you come up, so I'll give you a signal when it's safe.
(And so, she leaves me with that final sentence. "Don't come up". Argh! Why that does phrase hurt my head so much... And so, here I am, sitting on a chair in the so-called basement.)
(I guess I'll wait in here for a while..)
