Chapter 1: Worry

It's 2016, Megumi and Yuji are officially 16! They are both attending Jujutsu High, though not the same class. As expected Megumi aces every class and Yuji gets by lol. Their favorite after school activity is skateboarding. Yuji was the one to get interested first, seeing how popular it was he decided to make his boyfriend do it with him. Megumi accepted, but only because skateboarding was the only peace he could really feel. Megumi was going through depression. Things at home weren't perfect, his mother died and his father isn't the ideal dad.

Right now it's 18:37, they finished school and Yuji is waiting outside Megumi's classroom, because he finished first. He is excited to skate with his boyfriend .

Megumi was the last one to walk out of his classroom, looking tired with visible eye bags. And of course a half empty monster drink.

"Yooooo Gumi!", he jumps in his hug smiling, "You look tired, was class hard?"

Megumi tries to smile for him even if he can't really bring himself to, "It was okay, don't worry about me. Are you ready to wind down and skate?"

Yuji smiles even more and pulls him closer, "I was thinking about this the whole day today! I couldn't even concentrate in class cause of my excitement."

Megumi sighs, "You can't ever concentrate in class."

"Oh cmon, don't nag me about that right now, let's get going!" Yuji takes his hand

Megumi leans in his touch, "Lead the way then."

Yuji smiles and leads the way

They walk in silence, they always do. It's never uncomfortable though. Yuji knows Megumi is exhausted, he doesn't want to tire him even more. Yuji knows Megumi is most likely depressed but doesn't know how to bring it up, cause anytime he doesn't Megumi just brushes it off. Yuji is worried about his boyfriend.

They arrived at their favorite skate park close to Yuji's house.

Megumi immediately picked up his skateboard and started showing off his brand new skills.

"Woah! Slow down! When did you learn all that!!!!???" Yuji exclaims with excitement

Megumi smiles "I had a lot time on my hands these days when you were in detention."

Yuji rolls his eyes "We don't talk about my detention. They put me there cause I stood up for Nobara in class!"

"Telling the teacher she doesn't know how to teach and how she should reconsider her job isn't standing up for your friend." Megumi pats his head

"Whatever, let's get going!" Yuji picks up his own skateboard and starts riding

They start riding together. I can't lie and say there isn't some tension when they ride. It's usually Megumi's fault. His damn looks he gives to Yuji. Today was no different. The way he looks at his boyfriend can give chills to anyone.

And of course Yuji isn't that dense, he notices every look, every little movement. And enjoys every second of it.

Yuji stops his skateboard "I'm tired too, you know."

Megumi raises his eyebrow "Really, wanna go to the store and grab a drink?"

Yuji smiles "Sounds like a great idea!"

Megumi takes his hand and takes him to a convenience store

In the store. Yuji is having a hard time choosing a juice he likes, mostly cause he likes them all.

Megumi picks up a Monster drink.

Yuji rolls his eyes, "Again? Can you not drink a strawberry juice?", raises his strawberry juice right into his face

Megumi chuckles "No. I don't like strawberry and you know it."

"It doesn't have to be strawberry, just anything other than that bullshit." Yuji seems worried

Noticing his worry Megumi puts down the Monster and takes a lemonade "Will this make you shut up?"

Yuji smiles "Yes, sir!"

Megumi goes to the cashier and pays for their drink and they open it in front of the store.

Megumi sighs "Slow down, no one is taking it away from you."

Yuji giggles "It's so fucking good!"

They giggle about it on their way back to the skate park.

At the skate park.

Yuji finishes his drink and throws it in trash. "It's getting late..."

"You're right, but I'm not so excited to go home." Megumi replies

Yuji gives him an understanding look, "I had a feeling you'd say that. Wanna crash at my place?"

"Nahhh, there are some things I have to go through." Megumi replies again

"You sure? You can always come to my place if that jerk annoys you." Yuji says

Megumi smiles, "Thank you, I know. But I'll go home today. But don't you reclaim that offer."

Yuji smiles, "Won't!", kisses him

Megumi smirks "That's how you wanna play?" kisses him back

Yuji smiles, "See you tomorrow then, call me if needed to!"

"Will do! Don't worry." Megumi says

They say their goodbyes and head home. Megumi still isn't that excited to go home, but like he said he has to do it.

Megumi arrived home. His father was wasted on the couch, 12 empty beer bottles next to him. Megumi tried to understand him, losing your wife is hard. But so is losing your mom, if not even worse. Megumi just heads up the stairs to his room. He puts his headphones and starts listening to Lil Peep. Thinking about Yuji never stops of course. He slowly falls asleep with Yuji on his mind

At Yuji's house
Yuji ariived home too, still really worried about his boyfriend. His parents were at home watching a movie together, laughing. His home was very different from Megumi's. One of the reasons why Megumi never really opens up about his situation, he feels like someone with a happy home can't understand him. Yuji also falls asleep thinking about Megumi. Dreaming about each other. Together even in dreams.
