Innominate's Clan: Avian War

Prologue

Raven was out collecting supplies, when suddenly he hears a strange noise. It was a loud buzzing sound, coming deeper in the forest, closer to the road where humans live.

Preparing to go to investigate, Raven rubbed against the dirt, trees, anything. This was so he smelled less like Raven and more like dirt. Then he began walking towards it slowly, staying low in the bushes.

Suddenly, he saw what he could only describe as a monster. It was tall, much taller than Innominate, with bright yellow. The eyes were a transparent thing where he could see a human inside, seeming to control its movements.

It had a long neck and a mouth at the end of it, which it used to scoop up pieces of trees that had been cut off. Its movements were slow and unnatural. There were more humans beside it, with these sharp things that cut down the trees, and produced that sound he heard whenever it was turned on.

'Humans! They're destroying the forest!' Raven said in his mind. Horrified, Raven crept back into the bushes, and flew back to the base once out of sight. He landed right next to Innominate, who looked down at him with concern.

"There's humans! At where the gray path ends, they're destroying the forest!" Raven said. Innominate went serious.

"Destroying the forest? That can't be good. Let's just hope that they don't come near us, and stop before their work affects us. If that's the case, maybe this can be good for us. It pushes the prey towards us. If not..." Innominate's voice trailed off. Raven could tell Innominate didn't know what he'd do or where the clan would go if the humans didn't stop at where they were.

"Well, Don's eggs hatched today. And Peregrine's offspring are now experts at flying! And as far as I know, nobody else is carrying eggs. The only issue are Don's offspring, they're newborns. They won't survive the journey." Raven said.

"They will, I'll make sure of it! Don already lost Duvie, she couldn't bear to lose her entire nest too." Innominate said. Innominate's voice cracked when he said Duvie's name.

"It's okay. We got through the bear, through the dogs, we'll get through this." Raven said, pressing his body against Innominate's leg. 'At least I hope we do.' Raven said in his mind.
