"Too far. Too crowded. And this one's way too expensive!"

Minjae dropped another flyer onto the living room floor and fell back dramatically onto the couch as he let out a sigh. "Where am I supposed to live?"

"Just stay in the dorm. I've told you a hundred times already," his mother replied from the kitchen, the sound of dishes clinking against the sink.

Minjae groaned and rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling.

Getting into medical university was supposed to be the hard part.

Not this.

Not finding a place to live.

He had fought too hard to get accepted. Too many applications. Too many rejection emails. When the acceptance letter finally came, he thought the worst was over.

Apparently not.

He pushed himself up and glanced at the scattered adverts again.

Then one caught his eye.

Cheap. Spacious. City view. Rooftop access.

He blinked.

There was no way.

"Is this even real?" he muttered, already reaching for his phone.

His finger hovered over the number for a moment before pressing call.

The line rang.

Once.

Twice.

...

For some reason, his heart started beating faster.

"Hello?"

Minjae blanked out.

That voice.
Soft. Calm. Lower than whatever he expected.

"Hello?" the person reached out again.

"Oh! Yeah, sorry!" Minjae straighten his posture. As if he was in a military. "I was about to ask about the place.. Is it real..? I mean- is it available?"

The person on the line chuckles. That caught Minjae off guard.

"Of course it's real," that man said "And yes, it's available. Are you interested?"

Interested?
Minjae's brain stopped working for a second.

"Yes, about the room," he clarified.

Minjae came to realization. "Y-yes! I mean, yes. I'd like to see it tomorrow. When- will you- is that okay?"

"That's fi-"
Minjae cut off the lines before the other could finish.

The living room went silent.

He stared at the phone.

His ears went red.

What was that?

It's just a voice.

A guy over a phone.

Right?

"Found the one?" mom cracked the silence.

Mom? He is just a guy!

Over the phone!

"...The place?" she noticed Minjae's being flustered.

Of course.

The place. What else could it be?

"Yeah," he muttered. "I'm going to see it tomorrow."
