"Thanks, I think I knew that." He said in a high-pitched, squeaky voice.
"No you didn't. Now you want a quick death?"
"No, I'm not going to die." He spun us around and Ii was suddenly aware of how close I was to the edge. If I wanted to get on top, I'd probably fall, unless I went the other way which was harder. If I didn't get on top, I'd probably die.
So I turned and down we went. "Ame." Up. I would've used the catch spell, but then Romo would've been caught too.
Unfortunately Romo had a few tricks too. He did the same thing as me.
"Don't you know your own magic?" I asked.
"Yes, more than you'd ever know."
"Lamachob." Move, I said. Romo went flying in the other direction. "Giggaly Goo Na." Catch, I remembered that was one of my first spells. I was caught instantly. "Nacamaca." Lift, that was also one of my first spells. I remembered using those spells the night Nat was in a box. It felt like forever ago. Many years, if not ages ago. I went up and soon was with Nat and Maddie. Maddie was awake now, but she looked terrified. "We have to go. I escaped him, but he's coming."
"Candace, I don't want to fight him either, but I hope you know we have to kill him and fight him. Otherwise he'll just keep following us."
"I know. Shields up." I said. "He's coming." I sensed him coming. Our shields went up, and Maddie went into a ball again so that way if she got to tired, she'd be okay and safe.
Then Romo attacked. He shot at Hat and her shield stopped it, but disappeared. I jumped in front of her so Romo couldn't shoot her. She'd have time to put up another shield. He shot at me, it was extremely powerful, but my shield held. I knew I'd have to multitask.
I moved my shield to my non-wand hand. "Amna." Destroy.
His shield went out. I wanted to do the kill spell, but I didn't want to kill myself in the process. "Sagan." Zap a bolt of lightning came down from the sky and hit Romo. I walked over to him.
"Just kill me now." He wheezed.
"You are lucky I'm nice. I'll get it done quickly."
"Before you do, Candace Brown, you must know that you are very powerful. Watch your powers."
"Thanks Romo. Thanks so much." I said sarcastically. "Uka." End, I said and Romo's life ended.
"Time to go now guys." I said. "Want to jump and then catch ourselves?" Maddie still looked terrified of Romo. "He's dead Maddie." I said.
"Sure sounds fun." Nat agreed. So we jumped off the Sphinx, including Maddie even though she had wings. When we were twenty feet off the ground we said, "Giggaly Goo Na." Catch, and then lowered ourselves to the ground.
"Let's get out of here before B and B see us." We ran towards the road and got a taxi to take us to the closest exit. We were going to figure out where to go and then rest for the night. It was too dangerous at the pyramids. I kind of wanted to dream of Brooke and Brent so I knew what they were up to and where they were.
We went behind some buildings and set up camp. "The crown," I said.
"OH yeah, okay so far we have a crown and Pharaoh head. We must have to add up the things we find to find the big thing." Nat observed.
"What's inside the crown?" I asked. "It'll tell us where to go next. Oquen." Open, and the crown clicked open. Around it was a skinny old parchment that had been jammed into the perimeter of the crown.
It showed a city that looked old and, well I guess dead. "We'll have to ask someone." I suggested. "Maddie, Nat stay here. I'm going to look for someone to tell me where this is."
"Candace, you are not going by yourself."
"Why not? Do you not trust me? I can handle myself. Don't worry about me."
"I don't trust you sorry."
"Didn't think so. We can make our camp invisible, and then come back so no one finds it. We can all go and make Nat happy."
"That won't work either." Nat argued.
"Well do you have a better idea?"
"Um..."
"Didn't think so." Maddie oinked. "Maddie, if you think we're going to leave you behind, you're wrong."
Maddie snorted. "We know you could take care of yourself, but what if we don't come back for awhile?" Nat asked.
"You know what? Maddie you can just stay. If you want to then you can. We'll be right back." I started walking, but Nat stayed. "Are you coming, or am I going by myself?"
Nat hesitated. "I'm coming." She ran to try and catch me. As soon as we turned the corner, we saw someone and didn't ask them. They looked suspicious. A couple of minutes later, we ran into someone else. (Not literally.)
"Excuse me do you know where this is?" I asked, and then looked up at the face of our helper. I almost screamed, I knew we had to run.
