Hello to anyone reading! Before we start this fic off, I would like to acknowledge a few things. First, I would like to say that this is my very first fic, so bear with me. Sorry if it sucks. (Constructive criticism is appreciated.)

Second, any chapter warnings will be placed at the top of the chapter, before the part comes on (signaled with one of these *).

Third, I would like to say that updates should be weekly. (???) No promises.

And finally, I do not own any of these characters EXCEPT my ocs.

I hope someone reads this, and if you are...ENJOY!!!

TW: Mentions of harming others

Toshiko Yuka was rather unfortunate about the power meant to be a gift.

Growing up in a world full of charming heroes and sadistic villains, it was easy to differentiate between good and bad. In her kindergarten class, it seemed every day someone gained their quirk. She believed Quirks were such amazing powers that everyone seemed to be blessed with. That was until she gained one of her own.

Blood Boost

Toshiko's quirk had many powers within it. If she made a cut on herself. She could pull an amount of blood out and manipulate different properties. She could make it sharp like a knife or stretch it out like tape. Great for a capturing or combat hero, right? Toshiko could consume her own blood to give her own senses a power-up. But it came with a downside, like all quirks. She could cut someone else, too. Manipulate their blood or perhaps digest it for power.

She knew she would never do such a thing, but it didn't help that she was born with a natural lust for blood. To taste it, use it. And you best know that when Toshiko showed her very own class what she could do, it didn't end well. She was hurt, afraid of herself, and never used that side again. She would only use her own blood and no one else's.

Toshiko's parents never spoke of the incident or looked down on her, but she could see the anxiety in their eyes whenever she used her quirk. But nothing could dim her dream to become a hero. Just like everyone else. At least that's what she thought.

Toshiko rose at 7:00 am on the dot, due to her alarm blaring in her ears. She was NOT an early bird. She stumbled out of bed quickly, making it and arranging all her plushies in the way she liked. Mews, the cat plushie her dad gave her when she was little because he was allergic to real cats, rested in front of all the others.

After she had gotten ready, she stopped in front of her mirror, smoothing down her slightly wrinkled school uniform, and headed downstairs. She had raven black hair and blood red eyes, just like her father.

In the kitchen, her dad sat at the kitchen table, sipping coffee and squinting at the newspaper. "Morning, Iko," he murmured, completely locked in on what he was reading. Toshiko grumbled on a good morning, realizing her mom had gone to work already.

Toshiko's dad pushed a plate of tamagoyaki towards her, and she practically devoured it. Toshiko mumbled a quick goodbye and ran out the door. It was February 1st, the last day of her last year of middle school.

When slowly walking to her junior high, her best friend Koharu Manami slid right in front of her with a squeal. "TOSHIKO!" She yelled, grabbing her by the shoulders and shaking her. "Have you told your parents about the UA entrance exams yet?! The exam is 25 days away, girl!" She said with a wild look in her eyes. Toshiko smiled nervously, "Um...no?"
