"How long are you staying?" she asked.

Nathan hesitated for a second before sighing. "Just for the weekend."

Venerra frowned, her blue eyes shifting to green. "Do you like school?"

"Hm. It's okay. I'd rather be here, but I have to get a job. And in order to do that, I need a degree. Well...a good job, anyway." He explained.

"Okay." she said, her eyes going back to blue.

Varian smiled at her before looking at Nathan. "You going to call Elle then?"

"Yeah, I probably should." Nathan sighed.

As adorable as Venerra was, and as much as Nathan missed both her and Varian, he unfortunately had to leave, because Varian was right about calling Elle. But Nathan's phone was in the car. He could have just called from Varian's house phone, but Elle didn't have that number, so she probably wouldn't answer.

Digging around in the middle compartment of his car, Nathan pulled out his phone, noticing he had a text from Andrea. He'd answer that later though. He sat in the driver's seat with the door open, calling his house and listening to the other line ringing until a female voice answered.

"Hey Nathan."

"Hey Mom," he greeted, "Varian wants to know when you want us over."

"Oh...wait, are you over there now?"

Oh. He hadn't thought about Elle probably wanting to see him too. Whoops. "...Maybe."

"Nathaniel Tyler. I am your mother. And you completely forget about me to see your boyfriend?"

"Well, Mom, no offense, but I can actually stand being away from you. Him, not so much. Gives me a headache."

Elle sighed. "I will never understand vampires. Alright, well, whenever is a good time for him is fine with me. I know he's probably busy with Venerra and the farm, so I don't want to just set a date. Just let me know a few hours ahead of time."

"Alright, I'll let him know. I'll probably be over there tomorrow, whatever happens. For a little bit at least."

"Good. And go see Millie at some point."

"I refuse to go see her. If she wants to see me, she knows where I usually am."

Elle sighed again, but didn't say any more on the subject as she and Nathan spoke briefly about what to have when Varian and Venerra came over. They'd settled on spaghetti, which was Nathan's personal favorite, before he hung up and made his way back inside. He saw both Venerra and Varian on the couch, Venerra with her head in Varian's lap with one of his books, holding it upside down. Varian just looked happy as he smiled at her, and Nathan couldn't help a small smile at the scene before clearing his throat and speaking.

"So, mom said whenever you want to go over is fine with her, as long as she knows a few hours in advance. She figured you were probably busy with Venerra and the farm, so...yeah."

Varian looked up at that. "Fine with me. I currently don't have any chores, so whenever you want. Your house."
