Nathan tightened his arm slightly around Varian. "I missed you too."
Now that they had their various states of missing the other established, Varian's thoughts drifted back to the heat and Evan waking him up. He wanted to sleep. And if he didn't get to bed soon, he'd fall asleep in the living room on the floor.
"Sleep." he muttered, sighing. He was exhausted, and hated the stupid heat. And Evan. "I hate this heat. And Evan needs to go die in a hole."
"Damn. Little harsh, don't you think?" Nathan laughed quietly, reaching over with the hand and arm not wrapped around his waist to turn off the '64.
"No. Not at all. Moron gets blood on a regular basis, so he can be out in this heat."
"Well, if a certain someone would get blood on a regular basis as well, he wouldn't be so tired during the summer."
Varian rolled his eyes. While Nathan brought up a good point, it was a moot one, because regular feedings weren't possible for him. "I don't have time to leave my farm and head into town every three hours."
"I was just saying."
"Well, it's a moot point." Varian replied. "I don't like biting people for my nourishment. It's selfish. And the only thing enjoyable is the bite itself."
Nathan hummed at that and shrugged slightly.
Varian didn't think he'd get much of a response from that. While Nathan knew about what it meant to be a Changed vampire, he didn't have to live that life. He only witnessed it, and a small portion at that.
"I'm still tired though."
"So, why don't we go to sleep?"
That sounded like a brilliant idea. Varian nodded in agreement. "I couldn't agree more."
"Alright then. To the bedroom."
Varian found himself snickering. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say that had other connotations." he said before pulling away from Nathan and getting up from the floor.
"I think you're too tired for other connotations. Maybe later." Nathan laughed, standing up as well.
"I intend to sleep." Varian stated plainly, heading off to his room. Venerra hadn't gotten up yet. Which meant she'd probably wake him and Nathan up later. While the idea of having his sleep interrupted again wasn't pleasant, she'd been missing Nathan as much as he was, so he couldn't blame her.
Nathan followed him into the room, an action Varian was quite familiar with, and felt odd when he was absent. The bed called for him, and Varian wasted no time in walking over to it, kicking off his boots and unbuckled his belt, pulling that off as well. Pleased with that state of undress, he climbed into bed, pulling the blanket over his lap as he sat to wait for Nathan.
Nathan took his shoes off before walking over sitting under the blanket. With that done, Varian laid down on his back before rolling to his side, his front facing Nathan. He watched him sit there for a moment, looking at him and marveling at the thought that he was actually there.
Nathan finally did lay down, settling for on his back with his head turned to face Varian. Varian didn't like that.
"Must you always be so far away? I only bite occasionally." he protested. He wanted to fall asleep with Nathan touching him.
Nathan laughed quietly and moved closer. "Better?"
No, that was not better. He wanted to cuddle with his boyfriend and his boyfriend was not being nice and making it easier on him by doing so.
"Nope. I won't be satisfied until I can feel you against me."
Nathan smiled and moved closer again so that his arm was against Varian's. Varian scowled at Nathan.
"You're just teasing me now."
Nathan laughed. "I can't get any closer."
Varian smiled at him now. If he turned on his side, he could, but he wouldn't bug him too much about it. "Alright." he said, pulling the blanket up and snuggling under it. Closing his eyes, Varian felt that dark curtain of sleep tugging at the forefront of his mind. He needed to sleep. He was surprised he could function this long without it.
Nathan sighed quietly.
"Hm?" While Varian was curious as to what Nathan was thinking, if he was thinking anything, he didn't have the effort to ask the full question.
"Hm. Nothing."
Well, if it was nothing, then Nathan should just go to sleep. He decided to voice this. "Go to sleep."
"Fine. Oh, quick question, how would you like to be woken up on the highly possible chance I wake up before you?"
Varian didn't really care, he just wanted to sleep.
"How about you just let me sleep?" he asked.
"Okay, okay, fine. I'm done. Shutting up and going to sleep."
"Good. Just wake me up nicely. I don't care how." Varian murmured.
"Alright."
Finally. Varian was starting to get irritated with Nathan's incessant chatter. Didn't take much longer for the silence in the room to lull him to sleep.
