My stomach was bulging. I was pacing around the living room, hands on my hips as I waddled around.

Leah was sitting on the sofa, watching me walk around the room, her hands quietly resting in her own lap, her eyes slowly following every step I took, the way my hand occasionally moved to my stomach in what was now an instinctual, yet still protective way.
She watched me walk around the living room, the sight of me now nine months pregnant, my stomach rounding out and protruding from my body almost bringing a small smile to her lips.

"Darling. You're going to burn a hole in the carpet." She quietly spoke.

"She was supposed to be born 4 days ago and she's making no effort to come out yet" I said

Leah quietly listened as I continued to pace back and forth in the living room, watching me continue to wear a path into the carpet, my hands gently moving to my stomach again.
She heard my frustrated words mumbled about the fact that the baby hadn't yet made an appearance, and that the due date had already passed days ago.
She gave me a small, comforting smile.
"She'll come when she's ready, darling."

"Well if she stays any longer, I'm charging rent" I mumbled.

She couldn't help but let out a small, amused chuckle of affection as I mumbled once again about the fact that my belly was now large, and that the baby hadn't yet arrived.
She couldn't help but note the tired look in my eyes, knowing that the past nine months had been difficult.
Her voice was gentle as she quietly responded.
"Darling. She'll arrive when it is time. Try not to stress."

"She's heavy, come hold her" I mumbled

Leah immediately felt her own heart ache as I spoke, my voice tired and a little whiny as I continued to quietly grumble about the baby not having made her arrival yet.
She looked at me as I held my belly, a tired look on my face.
Without a word, her body moved to stand up, walking over to me and holding her arms out.
"Alright. Turn around. Let me feel."

I turned around and pressed my back against her chest

Leah slowly stepped closer to me, reaching forward and placing her hands on my stomach from behind me, slowly beginning to feel the heavy weight of my pregnant stomach between her hands.
The baby seemed to almost instantly know it was her, because almost the second her palms pressed against my body, the baby began to kick as if she were responding to her touch.
She slowly and gently caressed the roundness between her hands.
"She's eager. Already fighting for space."

I instantly groaned in relief as Leah's hands gently lifted my stomach, taking some of the weight. My back melted into her chest and my head tipped back against her shoulder.

Leah felt the way my body suddenly relaxed against her own body, my body instantly seeming to melt against hers as she held my belly, her hands gently lifting the weight and taking it on herself, her body silently supporting mine to take the pressure off my back.
She felt my head instantly rest against her shoulder, the way my body seemed to just sink into hers in relief when she held me.
She slowly, gently continued to caress the heavy, rounded out stomach between her hands.
"Better?"

"Mhm, stay like that" I said

The blonde felt her own heart ache and fill with affection as I silently muttered that I wanted her to stay with hands on my belly, holding the weight of my now large stomach.
She immediately nodded her head, understanding that the position was comfortable for me.
She quietly mumbled against my ear, her hands gently caressing and holding my stomach.
"I'm not going anywhere, darling. I'll hold this for a while."
