"I know and I'm sorry, I don't know how many times I have to say sorry just to get you to forgive me. I understand if you won't take me back, but can we at least be friends?"

"I don't know" I crosses my arms.

"Kelsey," he sighs "I know this is hard, I know I messed up and I know I lost your trust but if you give me this chance I'll regain it and make it up to you"

I looked straight ahead, slouching in the bench.

"Fine," I huffed "but this is your last chance and I promise if you mess this one up, there's no more chances."

"So, friends?" He smiles, although behind his smile I can tell he the word pained him.

"Friends."

.....

Kyle took this friend thing a little too serious, every chance he got to see me he'd always greet me with a friend at the end.

Its annoying.

"Kelsey," Shelby laughed "that is pathetic"

Her face was a bright red color, she couldn't stop laughing. Tears started flowing down her cheeks as she contagiously laughed. I don't even see how this could be funny, she made small comments in between her laughter.

"Shelby, this isn't funny" I huffed.
"I know *laughs* but Kyle *laughs* is such a loser" the ended sounded as if she was constipated.

"He wasn't a loser, when we were dating" I pointed, she began to calm down and wiped her tears away.

"Yeah, but that was until he broke your heart and became an asshole."

"Yeah, I guess you're right" I sighed.

"When am I never," she smirks.

I picked my phone, then received a message from Cory.

Cory: Hey, I know we haven't hung out since the weekend but how about you and I do something tomorrow night?

"Is that Justin?" Shelby peeks over at my phone, I pull it back and shook my head.

"No, its Cory. Justin hasn't talked to me since we all went out."

"Really?" She frowns.

"Yeah, but I mean he's probably busy" I shrugged.

"Maybe, I'll ask Matt" she says "And about Cory, what he say?"

"He just wants to hang out tomorrow night" I shrugged.

"Well, aren't you going to?"

"on a school night? Nope, I don't think so."

Hanging out on school nights wasn't one of my biggest things, I felt like it was a distraction and that was something I didn't need. Shelby was always the one to skip school and hang out with friends while I stayed in school and kept my perfect attendance up.

"Kelsey, you've got to be kidding me" she groans "how are we friends?"

"Hey!" I frowned.

"Just kidding" she cheeses, pulling me into a hug.

Maybe hanging out on a school night wouldn't be so bad, but I'm not trying to make this into something its not. I like Cory he's really sweet, but I don't want to rush things.
