" I Mary Janet Usotu, swear this day before you all and by the grace of God to leave a life of poverty, chastity and obedience and to abide by the rules and regulations guiding tye congregation of sisters of Mary friend of Jesus, from this day forward till the end of my life"
" Take this vail and cross as a sign of your commitment this day, to show that you now belong to God and to the service of the church" Bishop Shakan hands over a vail and a cross to her.
Bishop Shakan continues " May the Lord who u have given your life to, guide you throughout your vocation"
" Amen" Mary replied with a smile as she puts on her vail and turns to the Congregation.
" Behold Rev Sister Mary Janet Usotu" the Bishop declared.
Immediately the people began to sing and dance in jubilation.
This is Saint Michael Parish Ekwuluobia and they just ordained six new sisters and Mary Janet was one of them.
She is from Ekwuluobia and she happened to be the very first religious to be produced by the community. People never believed that someone from the usotu family knows the name Jesus talk more of being dedicated to the church.
The Usotu family was widely know in the community for their traditional involvement, some people in the village even alleged that they use humans as sacrifice, the people of Ekwuluobia were so surprised, all tho they knew Janet to be a separate child whose lives was special but they never knew she will become a Rev sister.
As the church was jubilating and rejoicing Sis mary started crying cause her mother was not there to witness the end of the war.
