School. Secondary school is possibly the worst thing ever. The populars always bump into you causing you to drop your bag full of books. The teachers shouting at you for the littlest things. And being bullied because I'm 'afraid' of water. *sighs* If only they knew.

My whole life during school I had been avoiding water, to stop everyone seeing me and calling me a freak in my true form. I had always made an excuse that I was allergic to water, I always used that in case I end up rushing to the toilets or a nearby safe spot or if I really want to, I have to take two tablets that helps prevent me from sprouting out a tail but it has horrible side effects so I don't take them so often.

Don't get my wrong I love being a mermaid but it has its flaws, my powers can sometimes be uncontrollable during the full moon, but I don't turn evil or anything like that. Just that if I want to levitate something, everything else tends to fly as well. I vowed to myself that I was only to use my powers for emergencies, but I tend to break it just for fun.

*school bell rings*

"Shoot I'm going to be late.." I muttered under my breath. I made my way to my science class, surprisingly without being bumped into by anyone.
An hour went by, " I want you to all revise on what we have learnt in the last five lessons as there will be a test for you on Friday." Mrs Usbury smiles as the whole class groans. I don't mind science, I love doing experiments although I can't do much due to my 'water allergy'.

My school had phoned up my parents numerous times to ask about my water allergy but strangely enough they went along with it and sided me. I mean, they don't know anything about me so why lie?

School was now over, finally, today went so long I could of sworn we were there for a month. I heard thundering, clouds started to form darker and darker. Brilliant.

I had managed to get into my car before the rain poured. That was a close call. I heard someone open the passenger car door and climbed in, I yelped as I didn't know who this stranger was. "Shut up" a husky voice called. "Okay, that was just rude and can you please get out of MY CAR?" I demanded.

"Fuck.. Calm down, can't I at least stay till the storm stops?" He questioned.

Well great, now I can't go to the beach for a swim. I love swimming during the storm, it helps me build my strength against strong currents if I'm ever in danger of getting pulled into one.

Minutes went passed, 5 then 10, I noticed his cologne had filled my car with his 'man' smell. Well that was pointless buying tropical beach car freshener.

I took a closer look at this drenched man who invited himself into my car. Holy crabs, he's the most popular guy in school, every girls dream guy, well not mine, Daemon Checker is his name. Although his name is pronounced Dae-Mon I prefer to call him De-man as he is just the most rudest and the most ignorant person I've ever met. And the worse thing is, is that he's soaking wet and in my car. If I was like every other girl in my school I would be all over him probably making him prefer to be in the storm than sit in the car with a girl fan girling over him, actually thinking about that he'd probably do both.

Snapping me out of my thoughts I heard Daemon grunt frustratingly and turned to me.

"Excuse me love, could you be a babe and drive me home? My mate was supposed to be here 10 minutes ago but he's otherwise occupied with a girl doing god knows what." He stated.

"Uh, I guess but you'll have to return the favour sometime." I hesitated.

"Anything for a pretty face, I live at **** street, about 10 minute drive from here." He chuckled.

Did he just flirt with me? Eugh, okay I want to throw up right now, sure he's good looking..really good looking.. Especially with his abs showing through his white top, along with his dirty blonde hair and tanned skin. Huh? What? As I was saying, I'm not interested in him whatsoever.

I started the engine and started driving. The rain hit my car like a drum, continuously beating the same beat over and over. Although it was dark, it was strangely quite relaxing at the same time.

Darkness came quickly and I was becoming more tense, I didn't know where I was and I didn't know where I had to go, "there's a bridge coming up now, you should be alright at this speed just stay calm, there's nothing to be worried about, it's just old that's all." Daemon reassured me.

Although I shouldn't be worried, I was extremely agitated something was going to happen, I didn't know what, but there was that feeling something was to happen.

I put my headlights on full beam to see ahead of me, I saw old wooden slabs sticking upwards to stop any thing from falling into the water, the storm had thankfully died down by the time I reached the bridge so it wasn't too difficult to see through the darkness. I remained driving at normal speed and thought it was safe to drive a bit faster, oh boy was I wrong.

"Are you okay? You seem tense." Daemon questioned.
"I'm fine." I replied as I gripped harder onto the steering wheel, my fingers turning white from the pressure.

Inside I wasn't, I felt uncomfortable and before I knew it, I had lost control of my car and we were heading off the bridge, my car crashed into the fence and into the sea below. We both screamed for our lives, everything seemed as if it was going in slow motion yet it all happened so quickly.

The impact of my car crashing into the sea knocked Daemon unconscious, I was stuck, struggling to get free, water was gushing inside through the broken windscreen, rising higher and higher. I was able to transform which was handy because I would be able swim away, however I couldn't leave Daemon to drown. So as I transformed I got out of my car and swam to his side, with my strength I pulled the car door off and grabbed ahold of him and swam to the surface.

The storm had disappeared as if it never happened, the bridge was broken and destroyed. My car was now at the bottom of the river, never to be seen again. I heard Daemon groan in my arms, I had to move him to shore and quickly. I'm not putting myself at risk on him seeing me like this, this would end me. I reached to shore and crawled my way up land, pulling Daemon with me.

"It's okay, you're going to make it, you just got knocked out that's all you'll be good as new.. I'm sorry.. You probably won't even remember any of this.." I whispered to Daemon as I stroked his face.

I turned around and crawled my way back to the water, as I took in the cold seawater I dived, hoping For dear life, Daemon didn't witness anything that happened in the last 10 minutes..

Well, tomorrow is a new day, I guess we'll find out then.. Until then.
