Chapter Five - If I'm not back in time, come look for me.

Start from the beginning

He lifted his hands up in surrender. "Okay. The keys are only for emergencies." He bargained. I nodded and walked over to the island. He started digging inside the bag and out came two coffees, orange juice and three plates of pancakes, waffle fries and bacon. Instantly, a fountain formed in my mouth.

"You didn't have to do this, Mr. Bla-" My sentence was cut short.

"What'd I tell you to call me?" He asked, pausing as he shared the food out to look at me.

"I can't just start calling you Leonardo.. then it'll become a habit and I'll end up accidentally calling you that at the office and that's not professional." I told him, looking right in his face.

Something shone on his face. I wasn't sure what it was. It was gone as soon as it came, but if I'm not mistaken, I could've sworn that it was pride.

"Understandable." Was all he said. "Eat." He commanded, motioning to the food.

"Kahlin, c-come eat, sweetie." I called out to him before I sat down at the island myself and did just that.

I was rather grateful that Kahlin, Cyril, and Denzel were in the limousine too. Or else being alone with Mr. Blazè would've been really awkward. Eating with him was awkward enough, so judge driving.

"Okay, first on the agenda is.. We're going to look for a nanny and a school for Kahlin." Mr. Blazè explained as he smiled down at Kahlin. "Ms. Hamilton, would you like for him to be home-schooled or attend a regular school?"

I perked up at the mention of my son. "What do you guys think is best? I fear that if he were to be home-schooled that he would never break out of his shell." I admitted.

"Personally, I think you should allow him to be home-schooled along with Ellie's triplets. They're Erin's niece and nephews, by the way." Denzel told me.

"I've met them already," I smiled, thinking about last night. I noticed Mr. Blazè staring at me with a questioning look. "But, they get home-schooled? From who?"

"They get home-schooled and babysat by my mother. She loves her job and children very much." Cyril interjected with a smile.

"Okay then." I smiled. "I guess we've made our decision. Your mother's school it is." I clapped my hands excitedly. They all grinned at me.

"Will you allow her to babysit him now? She's an amazing woman and today is a busy day for you." Mr. Blazè mentioned, looking at me.

"Wouldn't he have to be registered?" I questioned, a bit skeptical about just dropping and leaving Kahlin there.

"Yes, he would. But, he's only sitting in today. This is a favor from her to me. Don't hurt your head, Kendra. Kahlin will enjoy himself. Besides, you said he met the triplets already, right?" Cyril asked.

I nodded, swallowing. "Yes, he did. They enjoyed themselves." I admitted with a smile. There went Mr. Blazè with that questioning look again. I just ignored it. "Okay, fine. I have to repay your mother for this, though." I said to Cyril with a stern look.

"You won't regret it." Cyril assured me with a smile.

So, we headed to Cyril's mother's house. On the way there, I explained to Kahlin what was happening. I told him that he'd be spending a lot of time there, but he won't be alone. I told him that he'd be learning there as well and that afterwards, he'd have his fun with the triplets. His bag was already packed with necessities.
