The WTFers had been searching in the dark for ages. Golf Ball could barely sleep with Bomby and Nickel yelling at each other "It's not here either!" and Rocky barfing from distress right next to her. She didn't even know what they were looking for, but it seemed pretty important with how urgently they were acting.
"What's going on here?" Golf Ball asked, walking out into the dark with them. "We're looking for Rocky's blanket." Nickel said, looking under a bush. "But we already have a blanket in the WTF. He doesn't need another." "No, it's his special blanket. He can't sleep without it." Bomby popped out from behind another bush from across them. "Found it!"
Golf Ball took a look at the blanket as he held it up in the air. It was more of a raggedy burp cloth, covered in vomit and coming apart. You could barely even tell it was blue if there weren't pieces of thread coming out from the edges. Rocky immediately calmed down once Bomby handed it to him and fell right asleep. She just stared at him. She had a special thing when she was younger, as did many objects, but hers was a screwdriver, so she wasn't exactly used to seeing such a disgusting thing be so loved.
She stared at it for a while before asking, "Is it usually that dirty?" "Yeah," said Nickel, "In fact, it's usually dirtier." "Gross. Shouldn't we get him a new one at this point?" She didn't really know the common procedure for this kind of thing. Her screwdriver hadn't really gotten that dirty during her years of carrying it around, and if it had gotten dirt on it she could always wipe it off. "Hmm... Yeah. It's too icky sticky, I can't imagine he's sleeping comfortably with it."
In the morning, Rocky was carrying his blanket around, more than he usually did. Golf Ball was staring at him, waiting for him to go down for a nap. She had found a blue blanket, almost identical to his, in an abandoned shop. After a while, he flopped onto the ground, still clutching his blanket. Golf Ball looked at him before walking over to where Nickel and Bomby were.
"I don't think we can do it today. He may be sick." "Oh, he is?" Bomby questioned, walking over to Rocky. "He hasn't barfed all day," Golf Ball stated, "He may have a stomach flu." Normally a stomach flu would cause someone to barf more, but in rocks, they didn't barf at all, which wasn't healthy for them. "Poor thing." Nickel said, looking at Rocky. "Well, we should still be able to do it. Just run the blanket on the grass for a bit."
Golf Ball ran the top of the blanket on the grass for a good few minutes. Bomby then picked it up and handed it to Rocky, who was in his other arm. Rocky groggily stared at it for a while before grabbing it and smiling, holding it with one foot as his old blanket was draped over him. Now he had two special blankets.
The three of them blinked at each other. Well, at least he wasn't just using a puke coated blanket now.
