Unbearable. Insufferable. The bane of my existence. I swear, this job is seriously going to be the death of me one day. I was kept three hours after close tonight. THREE HOURS. That's just-...Ugh! If I have to explain to one more old lady why we won't accept her expired coupons, I'm going to lose my shit. Even worse is when some middle-aged douche tries to berate me for the prices as if I'm the one making them go up. I'm barely making minimum wage, and he thinks I have that kind of power? Some people are just...I'm getting ahead of myself.

My name is Margot Miyahara, I'm twenty-four, and my current situation is...complicated. I live in a one-bedroom apartment that I can barely pay rent for since my shitty job pays me just above minimum wage, even though I'm one of the only people there who knows what they're doing. I dug my own grave here, I just...If you'd asked me five years ago where I thought I'd be in my life right now, I never would've pictured this. I was supposed to graduate from college, probably find a partner, settle down some place nice...so much for all of that. Whatever. I don't have the time to be getting all existential right now. I have a thirty minute drive home and I can barely keep my eyes open. This is what happens when my boss can't get it through his thick skull that I need to be home at a certain time. I mean, I know my way home...it's mainly just backroads anyways with barely anyone else driving at this hour. Maybe if I just close my eyes for a second. Just one second... Just one second? I shouldn't...have closed my eyes.

I lost myself. I...I must've fallen asleep. As I regained consciousness, my eyes still closed, I wasn't sure what I was more concerned about; the fact that I couldn't recall actually getting home, or the fact that I certainly wasn't in my bed. I could hear a faint buzzing noise, the sound you'd hear from old fluorescent lights. And as I opened my eyes, I looked up at the white tiles on the ceiling. It was just then that I felt a sudden rush of uneasiness, as if I hadn't already felt wary of what was happening. I could feel my chest tighten, and I was suddenly fighting for air in the room as I could barely breathe. As I sat up, I took a quick glance around the room and all it did was comfirm my suspicions. I was in a hospital room.

I quickly closed my eyes again as I tried to calm myself down and slow my breath

I quickly closed my eyes again as I tried to calm myself down and slow my breath. Whatever happened, I...I'm fine, right? I feel fine at the very least. I took another look around the room, and that's when I saw another person. There was a tall, lanky looking guy with shaggy hair and a backwards baseball cap.
