War Breaks Those Unprepared For Death

Daysher would never forget the first time she saw a major combat during the clone wars before then she was on relief missions for planets liberated by the republic after the fighting ended. Her and her master Seisee Tinn were assisting Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi and the 212th on the planet Umbara the landing had been rough with 4 gunships being shot down during the descent and intial casualties reported an addition 40 clones including 8 AT-RT drivers had been killed during the initial push. Reports had suggested General Skywalker and the 501st had a smoother landing only losing a single gunship during the descent but had lost similar numbers on the ground.

After taking over an Umbaran outpost Daysher had met the 5th Jedi who was on this invaision with them. Master Pong Krell was a Besalisk jedi master Daysher had never met a Besalisk before but had heard of a friend of Obi Wan named Dexter Jexter who ran a small diner on Coruscant that Obi Wan had visited on a number of occasions and thought maybe Krell was like Dexter. However Krell barely ever acknowledged her and she often heard him talking down to the clones not just under his command but her masters and the clones in the 212th as well.

When Krell got a call to take over the 501st as Anakin had been called back to Coruscant but Chancellor Palpatine made a Daysher have a mix of relief to be away from the jedi master but at the same time feel bad for the 501st who now had to be talked down by him. Daysher never had the honour of fighting alongside the 501st as during the Umbaran Campaign they were on the other side of the planet but she had always idolised Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano who Daysher had seen assisting breaking through the sepratist blockade. 

As a youngling her and others in her class had dreamed about fighting alongside the clones and saving the galaxy a couple even bragged about being the ones who would once and for all stop General Grevious. However fantasy and reality were two different things a reality that hit Daysher harder then being hit by a stun bolt. Dysher jolted awake in her bunk as the sound of an explosion rocked the outpost as she scrambled out of her bunk grabbing her comlink and lightsaber she could hear a mix of orders coming through clones screaming out as their lives were cut short.

Daysher didn't think she just bolted from the barracks quickly making her way outside her eyes widening. The area was a mix of green and blue laser bolts flying from multiple directions clones were piling to defensive lines but were dropping whilst the flurry of green laser bolts would only occasionally vanish. Daysher knew all to well this was an Umbaran attack she couldn't see them but she knew she was there. But she soon was back to reality as two clones ran past her only for one to recieve a green laser bolt to the helmet dropping him instantly whilst the other was clipped in the leg.

Daysher: (the deaths end now) *steps infront of the wounded clone*

In a quick flash Daysher ignited her lightsaber the emerald green blade acting as a rallying cry as she deflected shots away from the clones back to the Umbarans allowing the clones time to enter a more stable defence. Whilst faint she could see another green lightsaber and a blue saber west and east respectively of her position indicating the attack was on more then one front as her master and master Kenobi were holding off those flanks.

The green lasers increased in fire rate however Daysher was faster whilst unable to deflect all of them the shots she did deflect met their mark and one by one firing positions fell silent from the Umbarans positions. Daysher rallied her masters men to push forward with 12 clones following her lead whilst the rest maintained their position and to cover the wounded.

Whilst difficult to see throught the darkness Daysher could make out retreating Umbarans in the east suggesting Master Kenobi and the 212th had successfully defended their flank as well. However as she followed her squad of men back to base by watching their sides incase of an ambush one clone cried out as he was shot in the back Daysher spun round but was clipped in the shoulder as an Umbaran who had been lying in wait caught her off guard.

Daysher wasn't fluent in Umbarans native language so she couldn't understand what this soldier was saying though if she had to guess it was probably something like "get off my planet Republic scum". However before she could speak a blaster shot ran out and the Umbaran fell to the ground dead.

"Are you alright commander?" A voice called out from a tree line. Hearing the familiar voice of a clone brought a wave of relief to Dayshers mind and when she saw who it was she wasn't surprised by how precise the shot was having been fired from his signature DC-15A Blaster Rifle.
