I memorized the sound of your voice
the way some people memorize scripture,
The softness in your eyes as they stared into mine
Also tender and warm even in the shadows of my moods,
Your presence eased the skeletons lurking
You wove yourself into every inch of me.
And when it ended your voice haunted me
My scripture burned my bleeding hands,
Eyes that loved me hollowed me out
Emptiness became my silhouette,
The love we never admited tortured us both
I wonder if I was woven into you
