~Chapter 0: Trigger Point~

He would wake up. His head's hurting again, the Time? 7am. Gee, another nightmare again? Another failure... Just like he was.

Weeks.. Months.. searching Though those Damn Books. No one believed in him, it was "stupid". It was a waste of Time, but he knew there was a way. Nothing could help. To Prove.

that extreme emotion could force the human mind to unlock something hidden.
Fear. Grief. Rage.
Push a person far enough, and something awakens.

At least, that's what he believes. What he needs to believe. 

He sat on the edge of his bed, rubbing his eyes. The lab rats hadn't reacted the way they were supposed to- not even close. They're just Rats. Nothing else. They all fucking died.

Maybe. He was wrong, his theory was wrong. Everything was wrong. Science is the only thing he cared about, it was his hobby, his passion. 

Then the thought slid into his mind- quiet, poisonous, perfect.

Rats don't feel emotions.
People do.

No. Shut up Moon. 
What are you even thinking about?

His breath stalled in his throat.

His friends would understand, wouldn't they? If he just asked them to help with a "project"... kept them for a little while... collected data... let them go before anything serious happened...

It wasn't illegal if no one got hurt.
He wouldn't let it go too far.
Just enough to prove the theory.

Though.

Would he go that Far to prove something? It's something you've wanted to prove your whole Life, Moon. It's okay. They'll understand.

Moon's phone buzzed on the nightstand, the sharp sound cutting through his thoughts. A Notification flashed across the screen:

Reminder: Return library books today.

Right. Life still existed outside his head.

He'll deal with that after Lunch.

Don't do anything stupid.
