(CONTEXT!! Bot, as a cyborg child. Lives with their parents Fan and Test tube.)
REMINDER THAT NONE OF THIS IS CANON. THANK YOU.
Bot was going to a concert with their parents today. They've always adored Spoiled Lemon just as much as their father. But ever since the band split he was heartbroken.
Recently, their aunt Lightbulb joined a band as a drummer. And they were going to her opening show. "Heavy Metal Popstars" they called themselves. An interesting name.
"I wonder if they'll look like a heavy metal band, but play like, popish songs?" Bot wondered aloud while their parents continued seemingly endless banter. "Probably sounds so, Auntie LB just sent me a photo of her makeup and she's covered in white face painting with lightning streaks. She looks so badass."
Pulling up to the venue, the family realized how packed this place was. Getting out of the car, Bot took their father's hand and followed inside. When getting the concert bracelets on. Bot looked at the poster and saw who was on it.
"DAD!! STAR FRUITS ON THE POSTER!!" Bot shouted, pointing to the poster. Their father immediately gasped and started geeking out. "TEST TUBE!! STAR FRUITS PREFORMING WITH LIGHTBULB!! AM I DREAMING??" While their parents freaked out. Bot continued to inspect the poster. At the bottom of the names. Lied one name that peaked their interest.
"Poppy Johnson Cobs? Dad isn't that one phone guy's kid?" Bot asked their father. Who also looked at the poster. "No, no yeah that's Mr. Steve's kid. No doubt. I recognize the name anywhere. But only because I used to be obsessed with the Meeple blogs." "Fan let's go before we lose front row spots!! C'mon!" Test tube grabbed Fan and Bot before rushing to find good seats.
The auditorium was quite small. Not a lot of room, yet so many people showed up.
"The venue must be fully booked, that has to be why there's so many people!" Test tube sat down next to Fan on his right while Bot was on the left. "Can't believe auntie LB got us front row tickets to see her band!" They exclaimed excitedly, they had never seen their aunt play on stage before. Let alone play drums.
Shortly, the lights dimmed down and roughly five people got on stage. With one being Lightbulb, and the other being Star Fruit, who looked much older than before. White hairs, a few forehead wrinkles. But still the same man. Paper, a friend of Lightbulb, was also on stage.
A taller girl with a black face mask walked on stage with a kid who was obviously Steve Cobs' kid. The disguise wasn't exactly fooling anyone. But they looked good in the makeup none the less.
The kid picked up the guitar and strummed it gently. A nice, low hum filling the auditorium. The audience quieted down, and the song started shortly after with Star Fruit singing.
The lyrics related to how Star Fruit grew as a person. Matured from his old life style and has his founded family.
Lightbulb was playing her drums so enthusiastically, her energy radiation off the walls.
As the song ended, Bot looked at the kid again, only to find them staring right back at them. Eyes wide with genuine curiosity. Bot shifted in their seat. They weren't uncomfortable by their stare. But the idea that someone found interest in them wasn't something they'd expect at a concert.
Once the band finished their last song, they got off stage. And with VIP tickets, Fan, Test tube and Bot went backstage to congratulate Lightbulb.
They wandered a bit before actually finding the dressing room she was in. But when they walked in, Star Fruit was giving that kid a noogie while calling them "a goofball."
Fan and Test tube immediately rushed over to Lightbulb and started squealing like kids themselves. Bot stoon nearby, waving hello when Lightbulb saw them.
When Bot looked to their left, Star Fruit had gravitated to the other band members, but the kid was sitting in that uncomfortable plastic chair, fidgeting with their fingers quietly.
They walked over quietly. Sitting next to them in that uncomfortable chair. The kid immediately looked over and stared at Bot, their eyes wide and bright. They stopped fidgeting after a while. But the two just staring at each other was awkward enough as is. So, Bot tried to stir up some small talk
"Hi." They managed to finally push out a word. A simple greeting.
"Oh! Uhm- hello!" They stumbled over their words, they sounded so nervous.
The two stayed quiet after a while. Just awkwardly staring at each other.
"BOT! What are you doing?!" Test tube shouted. Marching over the moment she saw her kid talking to someone related to the Cobs family.
"M- mom! I'm just talking to the guitarist! Kind of.." Test tube shook her head at Bot's words. "You shouldn't bother them. They could be very busy, come say hi to Auntie LB Bot." "Oh I don't mind! Usually people ignore me for Star Fruit.." the kid chuckled quietly, scratching the back of their head. Test tube rolled her eyes before Lightbulb pulled her in for a hug.
"Soo.. your Steve Cobs kid? 'Poppy' the poster said?" Bot leaned in closer, completely interested in them. "Oh. Uhm... Yeah..." Poppy leaned into their chair awkwardly, a frown on their face. "I don't like to talk about him... Bad memories." "Oh- I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to intrude on that i-" "oh no it's fine!! I've been doing better now that I ran away with my band!" Poppy chuckled, waving their hands.
"Bot! Venues closing up soon, say goodbye to your friend." Test tube shouted over the bouts of laughter.
"Aw no!! We just met!!" "Eh, next time we play nearby, and when we finally get you a non Meeple phone. You two can meet up again!" Lightbulb elbowed Poppy with a grin "Cut that out!!!" Poppy snickered. Bot smiled and waved their goodbye. "See you!" "Bye bye!!"
