chapter 8: first day out of Bell Reve

Felicity: okay dad, thanks for that.  And I do need to head to the scrap yard to get some extra parts for my Mimic animatronic that I wasn't able to finish 4 months ago.  Plus I could give them a tour of the town on the way.

Cade: thanks, sweet flea.

(Time skip)

We see Felicity & the others walking out of the house with Felicity holding Fetch on a leash and carrying a very large bag as Dr Membrane watching from his house across the street.

Dr Membrane: the yautja...

Then Dib walked up to him.

Dib: is Dek outside?

Dr Membrane: yes, with your cousin.

Dib: great!  This gives me the chance to ask him all about his kind!  Tell Mom I'll be gone for a couple hours today!

He said as he ran out the door.  Vanessa walked downstairs in a waitress outfit.

Vanessa: honey, have you seen my car key--

Dr Membrane: Vanessa, I think we need to talk for a few minutes.

Then Membrane dragged her into another room and shut the door.

Vanessa: hon, what is this about--

Dr Membrane: Dek.  How did he even get here!?

Vanessa: seriously, hon?

Dr Membrane: he is smaller than a normal adolescent yautja, he is obviously a runt.  The yautja usually cull their weak.  Why was he spared?  What are his intentions with your niece Felicity!?  How did their relationship even start!?

Vanessa: Membrane...

Dr Membrane: I told you everything I know about the yautja.  Why aren't you concerned!?

Vanessa: hon, my brother just got his daughter back and he still has to deal with his insane wife and his older daughter who doesn't have any common sense.  I am concerned but my brother has enough to deal with.  (Sigh) I have to go to work.

She said as she started walking away.

Vanessa: and Cade invited us over for dinner tonight.  We both know Dib is going to ask Dek a bunch of questions.

Dr Membrane: uhh...

Then Vanessa was right in front of the door.

Vanessa: you know we have to tell the kids the truth, eventually.

She said that she left the room.

(Time skip)

We now see the creature commandos walking through the town.

Nina: wait, you build animatronics as a hobby.

Felicity: yes, but getting all the equipment needed is not easy.  So, I met up with the scrapyard guy, Sparky, he also fixes cars to make some extra money.  So I was like "you want me to do some jobs for you in exchange for money and some scrap parts?" He agreed because one of his employees was retiring....  I'm probably gonna have to work overtime for awhile since I've been gone for four months.  I'm thankful that he was friends with my grandparents.

Harley: I see you've inherited your grandparents con artist tendencies.

Felicity: they've taught me a few things.

Leela: well, and everyone in this town is a little questionable.

Then they were walking past a diner.

Felicity: that's lazy Susan's diner.  My aunt Vanessa's been working there for a while.

Bride: isn't she married to Dr Membrane?  Why would she still work at that diner?
