The scene begins with Dek asleep in the same bed as Felicity, with Felicity putting her head on Dek's chest and Dek purring.
(Knock, knock, knock!)
That woke up Dek and Felicity.
Cade: (offscreen) kids! Time for breakfast!
Felicity: (groans) that's the first time it's ever been annoying.
Felicity got up first and went to the bathroom as Dek stayed behind. Dek got up and pulled out the songcord he kept hidden under the pillow.

Dek just stared at it and had a flashback from his childhood.
(Flashback)
We see Dek as a young pup with the same songcord, hugging it, since it was the only thing he had of his mother...
???: (offscreen in yautja) Dek!
Dek then turned around to see his father Njohrr staring at him with Kwei standing behind him.
Njohrr: (in yautja) I allowed you to keep that dirty trinket under the condition that it would stay in the ship.
Dek: (whimpers)...
Njohrr: (in yautja) give it to me.
Dek: (in yautja) but... Father--
Njohrr: (in yautja) now!
Then Dek started tearing up as he slowly walked up to Njohrr to give him the songcord but at the last second Kwei ran up and took the songcord from Dek and stood up to their father.
Kwei: (in yautja) this was mothers. It's not some dirty trinket. You don't even know what a songcord is!
Then Njohrr grabbed Kwei by his arm.
Njohrr: (in yautja) you dare disobey your father!?
He yelled as he threw Kwei at the wall.
Njohrr: (in yautja) you're both weak
Dek: (crying/in yautja) Kwei!
He said as he ran to his brother!
Njohrr: (in yautja) we do not forgive weakness. It's better you both learn that now.
He said as he walked away.
Dek: (crying/in yautja) I'm sorry brother!
Kwei: (in yautja) it's not your fault. Father was gonna take away mother's songcord.
Dek: (in yautja) do you think she would be mad at me for almost losing it?
Kwei: (in yautja) no. She wouldn't... Just promise me that you'll keep it safe?
