chapter 8: first day out of Bell Reve

Felicity: (offscreen) hey, Dek.

Dek immediately hid the songcord under the pillow.

Felicity: breakfast is downstairs.

Dek: (in yautja) I'll... Be there.

Felicity still couldn't understand Dek. She's definitely gonna need to learn his language soon.

Felicity: don't forget your translator Dek.

Dek then looked at the translator gauntlet he made out of Felicity's spare animatronic parts and started putting it on. He secretly hated that he had to use it, to him it felt wrong. Dek then used his makeshift translator to talk.

Dek: (electronic voice) I hate using this.

Felicity: you do?

She asked, walking up to him.

Dek: it feels wrong...

Felicity: ... Maybe you could teach me your language.

Dek was shocked that Felicity would be willing to learn his language.

Dek: you're willing to learn it?

Felicity: yeah, so that you could use that translator less.

Dek: ...

Cade: (offscreen) Felicity, your friends and cousins are here!

Felicity: we should just go downstairs, already.

Dek: of course.

Then he tied the songcord to his belt so he wouldn't lose it.

(Time skip, downstairs)

Everyone was downstairs with Cade cooking breakfast for everyone.

Kai: where are Dek and Felicity?

Harley: hopefully not doing anything... I don't think I should say it at all.

Cade just stood there, something about Harley felt familiar, as if he knew him before.

Cade: do I know you from somewhere?

Harley: (scoffs) don't act like you're innocent. Not after what you did.

Bride: then what the hell did he do to you, Harley?

That's when Cade finally remembered his childhood best friend Harley Sawyer.

Harley: I told all of you not to call me--

Cade: Harley? Harley Sawyer!?

Harley: now you idiots have done it!

Cade: what happened to you!?

Harley: now you're concerned? After everything you've done.

Cade: what?

Harley: why should I even bother explaining it to you?

He said as Dek and Felicity walked into the room.

Felicity: morning, dad!

Cade: oh, good morning, Sweet flea! Good morning, Dek.

Dek then used his makeshift translator to talk.

Dek: (electronic voice) Cade.

He said as he grabbed a knife on the counter.

Dek: I greet you with honor!

Then she used the night to cut his right hand and squeezed it so blood would come out.

Everyone: Ahhh!!

Nina: that is so much blood!

Harley: what is that!?
