Chapter 14

Riley's POV
James and I are sitting together on the bus ride to regionals, and then he asks me this one particular question that got me thinking

"Why do you now have an expression that's well, wired, you're, emotionless" James tells me, and that question made me puzzled

I am currently stuttering to answer this question, I wanna know why he asked, but if I ask him that, he may become mad at me

"Um... Well, I don't really know how to answer that question" I really don't know "Maybe because so many things have happened in my life"

"Like what?" James asks, he can't know, he can NEVER know, I take a deep breath and stare at him in the eyes, and then I decide to talk to him

"Just stuff, and I don't wanna tell you why, I keep that secret, but all I can say is that, it was very bad, and it resulted in you coming onto the team, witch I now regret, I was the reason why" I tell him

James puts his hand on my hand, I get a tear drip down, no Riley, you, you can't be, you can't actually like James? Maybe more, NO, Riley, you hate everyone and everything well other then your parents, their amazing...

"Ok, everyone get off the bus and start rehearsing" Kate tells everyone, we get off the bus, I don't know why everything came to be, was James suppose to come in my life?

NO Riley, you won't like him, NOT even as a friend!

James' POV
We get off the bus as I see that Riley is sitting alone, so I decide to go talk to her, but I hope she doesn't ignore me

When I sit down, she stand up and walks away, we are the first ones going on stage, we are going on stage against art and soul

I am so scared right now, I used to dance at art and soul, but never went to a competition, I was in Art And Soul's J- troupe

I look over at my friend, her name is Mary, she's another one of my ex girlfriends, I have a few, let me see I have, well I'll just list them

Amanda (Cheated on her with Tess)
Tess (Cheated on her with Amanda)
Mary

And well those are all, Riley starts to try to avoid me, I just hope it doesn't continue or else, I'll be having maybe not have the duet in our finals routine, witch could change weather or not we win regionals or not

*Later*

It's time for the first round of regionals, we start to dance to Stand up, and we are doing great out there, after we are done dancing, we walk off to go talk to Riley

"Hey"

"Yea, I kinda don't wanna speak with you at the moment if that's ok" Riley tells me

"No, I will get a word out of you Riley, I will, I vow on the next step winning regionals that I will!" I say, I see Mary point at me during the dance

"Who's that?" Riley asks

"No one" I say to her

"Who is it!" She says again

"Mary, my ex, she wants me back" I respond

They finish dancing a few minutes later, they were dancing to all of me by John Legend, and then we walk on stage to find out if we made it onto the next round

"And the group moving onto round two is.... THE NEXT STEP!" Chuck Anderson says, this means I may get to win with Riley...

and then, Mary gives me a gesture with her hands saying, I'm keeping an eye on you through that gesture...

I'm so scared
