The Queen of Midtown High
Maddie Brown walked through the halls of Midtown High as if they were the red carpet of a gala. Every step, every glance, every word that came out of her mouth was calculated. With a height of barely a meter and a half, she compensated with attitude for what she lacked in stature.
The only child of a wealthy Manhattan family, her world revolved around luxuries, reputation... and her reflection. She didn't need friends, nor did she want rivals.
She just wanted to be the best. At everything. Except for science. In that, she grudgingly admitted, Peter Parker always had the lead. Although, of course, she had something Peter didn't: connections. A private scholarship had opened the doors to the lab of Professor Curt Connors, one of the most promising names in regenerative biology. And if anyone was going to dethrone Parker in that subject, it would be her. What Maddie didn't know was that this decision—that small, narcissistic, and ambitious decision—would be the last one she would make as a human. Upon arriving with Connors, they would begin to have disagreements, as Connors saw her as nothing more than a spoiled brat with enough money to be forced to work with her. To which Maddie would try to help him without looking like it too much.
