As she made her way there she could hear some voices and saw a group of men and an elderly Lady standing front of a jet having a toast? she was about to pass them when she heard her name being called and as she turned around to look for thr source she realized that the elderly lady had been her mum laughing and smiling with those men.
"ONYECHI ,ONYECHI" Her Mum called "Mum? what are you doing there?" She answered while making her to her Mum. As she got closer she was able to recognize who the men were and why her
Mum was chatting with them.
You see Onyechi's Mum is a Nollywood Fanatic her dad too but not as much as her mum so she now understands why her mum was chatting so excitedly with specifically Zubby Micheal aka Eze Ndi Ala and Timini Egbuson two of her most favorites nollywood actors.
"Nnem oo" her mum greeted
"Mum I thought we had agreed to meet by the plane, and why are you here alone where is Laura" Onyechi asked her mum already being a little agitated from her previous phone call.
"Ehhh I sent Laura to go and buy me some meatpie , you know I do not like this your airplane mende mende " her mum replied
"I know that is why I asked the cabin crew to change their menu to Nigerian cuisine" Onyechi answered
" Hewo Nnemoma I did not know ooo sorry, ooo" Mum said
"It's fine" I told her already making my way to the jet ready to leave for our vacation that I now realize I need more than I thought.
" Wait" mum called
"Let me introduce you to ....."she started
"Mum, Es intressiert mich nicht" I said interrupting her while resuming my walk.
"My Friend Come jare was es interessiert dich nicht ,ich versuche ein Mann für dich zufinden,abi is this not you spec?" Mum said very loudly might I add.All I want right is for the ground to swallow me up because the men that had once been chatting and jisting between themselves have suddenly turn their full attention to us.
"Oh Mein Gott Mum why would you say something like that" I partially whispered
"Am I lieing " She said in a very nonchalant way like she hadn't just made me the Center of attention.
"Eheh Well as I was saying Gentlemen This is my very beautiful and successful daughter Onyechi and yes she is very very single and very much searching" Mum said
"I'm not searching " I tried to chip in before I was caught off
" Ashi Ashi She is searching oooo very very searching intact the entire family is searching with her because you see this girl ehh out of my four children she is the only that I have never heard anything like boyfriend from , relationship ooo No ,blind date oo NO, Dating App MBA it has reach sothe I will even accept girlfriend but NO Onyechi is adamant on being single the only thing she cares about is money money money how will she make money if it is not a business deal today it is a business trip tomorrow Chai Onyechi have mercy one now " Mum lamented
And at this very moment I very much wanted to evaporate into air and just let the wind blow me away because WHY IN THE LORD ALMIGHTY'S NAME will this woman I call my Mother put my business out like that.
"Anyways since it has now become clear to me that you will never develop a dating life I say make I help you small do advertisement, Zubby,Timini both of you fit her spec intact you are her spec so Onyechi pick one let us go and prepare traditional marriage" mum said while all I could muster was not even a word no but a wide eyed wide mouth flabbergasted the Said Men were no different look o you thought she stopped there no she went on and nailed the last Nail on my already dissolving and embarrassing coffin.
" Oh abi una are not interested because if you are not Ebuka you are interested or do any of you have friends that may be interested in coming to marry her ehh" ," Aha this one you people are looking at me like this am speaking Chinese " Mum said in a confused tone as if she had said the most normal thing a person would say
All I want to do right now is die,let me just die and go and see my make me because this embarrassment is too much for me to handle.
"PUAAAHHAHAHAHHHHHAH OH MY GODDDD HAHAHAHHHHSH" Laughter that is all I could hear and guess from who yess you guessed right none other that the guys especially Zubby and Timini my embarrassment has officially gotten worse.
" Mum dein Ernst willst du mich grad verarschen warum hast du dass gesagt wieso weshalb warum oh mein gottt „ i angrily said to Mum and just went as fast as I can to the boarding spot and boarded the plane leaving mum and Laura who had returned somewhere between Mums " advertisement"to follow after me.
Even on the plane I could still hear there laughter as if it had gotten louder.
