Crickets lightly chirped as moon light shone down to a little room. It shone down to a red carpet floor that had some little dark spots on random spots. They dress against the wall next to a Spider-Man poster. Under the poster was a basket half-full of different toys. From Legos to dolls to little military guys. There were some (f/c) sneakers next to the door and a sweater hanging on the back of the door. The door was creaked open and there was a good view of the living room.
*SMASH*
A little girl flinched as she heard the loud shattering of glass. She saw from there was her step father, sitting on his recliner, pissed at the TV. He then reached into the little cooler he has next to him, crack opening another cold one.
She then carefully closed the door and sat with her back against the wall. She was holding a little blue elephant her mom won her at a county fair went to about 3 months ago.
She then saw lights coming from her widow and rushed over. She looked out and saw her mom coming home. She had on a black jacket over her scrubs as she was exhausted. The girl went back to the door and cracked it open as her mom entered the house. She exchanged a few words with the man on the chair who barely acknowledged her 'I'm home'. He then brushed her off when she commented on his drinking before yelling at her to fuck off as he had a shitty shift and need it.
She rolled her eyes and heard over to her daughter's room. Seeing her walking over, the little girl rushed to her bed and pretended to be asleep. Her mom fully opened the door and saw her daughters back facing her.
She smiled as she walked over and gave her daughter a good night kiss despite it being 9:25. She then pulled a red lollipop she took from work out of her pocket and put it on the nightstand. She then rubbed her daughter's back and whispered that she's excited for her school field trip tomorrow. She then gave her daughter one more kiss before walking out and gently shutting the door.
Once it was closed, the little girl opened her eyes and made sure her mom was gone before sitting back up. She then looked down at the elephant just as she flinched again since her step-dad stomped his foot as he called the guy on screen a dumbass. She signed as reached under her bed. She pulled out a book, Percy Jackson The Lighting Thief. It had a blue reading light hooked to it and she turned it on.
She glanced at the door as she heard her mother ask the man to keep it down as her daughter needs to sleep. But he just told her to shove it as he had a shit day before yelling at the TV again. Seeing that it's going to be another long night, she opened her book and began to read.
*BEEP-BEEP*
Grunting was heard as a woman reached over to the nightstand to shut off the noise. But she only hit a hard surface.
"Rise and Shine Princess."
She grunted again as she pulled the covers over her. Though she then felt a figure loom over her as her coverage was pulled off her. She then curled her body as she was trying to sleep.
"Come on y/n, get your ass up and dressed before someone walks in."
She grunted again as she forced her body up and sat up on the bed. Her (h/c) hair was all messy as she rubbed her eye before stretching. She had a little frown as she was currently in a bra and shorts that barely covered her midthigh. She looked to her side to see the one responsible for waking her.
It was a man who was roughly two-threeish years older than her. He had messy, long-ish brown hair as he clearly just got out of bed. He had on dark pants, a matching under shirt with a random open button that had tigers and dragons on it. He also had multiple pieces including his ears and nose as well as tattoos on his arm.
"There she is."
He ruffled her hair, making it more messy as she swatted his hand away, clearly grumpy.
