There was a thick heat lingering over the small town of Charming, California. The air felt charged, like the moment just before a warm yet refreshing summer thunderstorm.
All the people tried to stay somewhere with an AC or at least someplace shaded. The roller gates of the workbays at „Teller-Morrow-Automotive" were wide open. Cars on jacks and scattered tools gave the impression that someone had been working there until just now.
Liz sat on one of the sofas inside the clubhouse of the infamous „Sons of Anarchy-MC". The heavy wooden doors of chapel were closed and she waited for them to finally open after what felt like an eternity.
Bouncing her right leg, Liz glanced back at the clock hanging at the bar. „What takes them so long..." she thought as finally the doors swung open and a giant young man came running towards her. With one swift move he swept her up from her seat, putting her over her shoulder and spinning around like a kid. „Stop...Opie...!" she laughed. „I'm gonna get sick!".
„We're patched." Opie cheered as he finally put her down again and a just as young but shorter blonde man appeared at his side, also smiling from ear to ear. „Congrats you guys!" Liz beamed, hugging both at the same time. „I knew you would patch today tho." she giggled awkwardly as she took a step back. „Shh! Kid. You weren't supposed to tell them." a gray haired man said playfully pissed. „ Sorry, Clay. I'm just so excited for Jax and Ope." she put on her best puppy eyes as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, smiling at the young woman. „Can't blame my kid." Piney chuckled, appearing on her left side. „She would have been a prospect herself if she'd been a boy." Liz shrugged her shoulders as if she didn't knew what he was talking about „Maybe."
Piney was right. If Eliza was born a male she definitely would have been a prospect alongside Jax and Opie, but she wasn't so she couldn't do much, but be excited for her brother and their best friend.
„Your dad would be proud of you tho, Lizzy." Clay said appreciatively. „Yeah he would and i definitely am." Piney said, placing a kiss on her head. He was her dad, allthough he wasn't biologically. Piney took Eliza as his daughter after her father's death. Her's and Opie's birthdays just being 5 days apart really made it easy for them to „become siblings".
„Now let's party. I think there are some patch-ins and long overdue 18th birthdays we need to celebrate!" Tig yelled from across the room, already carrying some shot glasses towards the group. „That's what I heard too." Bobby agreed, handing Liz a glass. „Bottoms up, kids!". Jax, Ope and Liz downed their shots of tequila, the subtle burn in her throat causing her to cough a little. „You'll get used to it, Lizzy-girl." Bobby laughed, gently patting her back. „If you say so." she laughed between coughs, making the others laugh too.
Not long after the lot and the clubhouse started to fill with Sons from other charters ready to party and get drunk. By the time the sun started to set the whole compound was packed and still there were some stragglers arriving at TM. Eliza was sitting at a picnic table with Tig and Chibs as another 4 bikes arrived. „Looks like Tacoma is now complete." Tig said, blowing out the smoke of his cigarette while standing up to greet them. Liz also stood up, excited to see „uncle" Lee, Tacoma's prez. As the four Tacoma Members approached she quickly made out two new faces. A blonde surfer-looking guy and a really grumpy looking, tall one with black curls framing his face. Both maybe in their mid twenties and according to their kuttes, full-patches.
„Lee! Kozik!" Tig greeted them, clapping each on their backs. „Look at you Lizzy!" Lee smiled hugging her warmly. „All grown up." he added as they pulled away, causing her to blush a little. In her peripheral Liz could see Tig shaking hands with the grumpy looking guy, whose eyes quickly went to her again after greeting his fellow son. Somehow that send a tingly feeling to her gut, causing her to quickly turn her attention back to Lee who already began to speak again. „ You know Lorca and this is Kozik." he nodded his head towards the blonde guy. „And this is Happy." Lee said as the grumpy one stood beside Kozik, his eyes still on her. Surprised by his unusual Name Eliza quickly looked at uncle Lee again. „Yeah i know. Ironic isn't it." he whispered to her as he spun them around to walk the other way. Apparently her face already said what she was thinking...once again. It was a trait of Liz she couldn't fight. Her facial expression was always first to tell how she felt or what she thought. Jax always made fun of her for her resting bitch face and facial expressions.
„Yeah, ironic." Eliza said, as she looked over her shoulder spotting Happy one last time before Lee guided her inside trying to find Piney and Clay.
