The soul pulses and struggles in Kris' hand. The red drips down their forearm like something out of a horror documentary, yet kris doesn't bat an eye. With one powerful throw, it bashes harshly into the frail little bird cage, and kris slips out the long blade from their waistband. looking at the silver in the moonlight like this feels like they're holding something special. It was, to kris, and as they stumble downstairs, they try not to slump over against the wall. God, their head is reeling. They're so hungry. How long has it been since they've eaten? At least two or three days. If they couldn't take out the soul  they'd be toast. The pie dish is just sat there, untouched. Kris scoffs it like a pig.

Back then, kris was a (relatively) normal kid. Playing, exploring, talking. Things change, and people drift apart, i guess, but Noelle? She didn't deserve that. Kris pushed her away. It was too much. What happened with Dess.. kris pushed her away. Did that mean kris didn't care for her? Hell no. They couldn't help it. I mean its not like they didn't talk to her at all, but they definitely keep their distance, as much as noelle wanted to fight it. Kris just wants what's best for her, and yesterday after school, when noelle asked her what susies like? They were honest. Noelle blushed at just hearing susies name.
"Chalk? Huh. W-what kind of chalk does she like..?" And when kris gave her that knowing look, she waved her hands around hurriedly
"W-what? What!? Im just asking for friendship reasons!" She said quickly, her face as red as her nose. It was sort of funny yet... the thought of it, noelle and susie, it made kris' chest hurt. Not physically, but the sort of pain that makes you wanna crawl into bed and disappear under the covers, and kris knows that feeling well. Kris decided to blame the feeling on the soul. Its easier than properly thinking about their problems. Kris was a shell of flesh and bones, only for the soul, but whether they like it or not, they need each other, so pain it is.

Susie was a raging fire, kris was a candle light. As time goes on, she only burns brighter, while kris flickers quietly, and yet kris can't resist but to lean in closer. Even if the wax melts away, leaving just a puddle and wick, and eventually that they did, when they heard the news.

Susie and noelle were written in ink by destiny itself, so that day when they walked into class holding hands, susie looking embrassed but happy and noelle with a cheesy grin on her face kris shouldnt have been surprised, hell noelle and susie were their best friends, they should have been happy for them, yet kris' throat felt like it was closing up.
"So you two are finally together, huh? Took you long enough, " the soul selected, though the words felt disgusting and wrong on kris' tongue
"Shut up, dude, confessing your feelings and shit is hard," kris feels a sting of irony, and susie continues on
"Dont worry, though, you and me aren't gonna change one bit. You're my best friend dumbass." She grins, with that wide smile that once brought kris so much happiness, now bitter sweet.
...
"Yeah, obviously." kris responded, voice calm, because it was obvious and yet tears well in their eyes, only covered by their bangs. What was ever the point in hoping for something so obviously out of reach.
