Introduction / Part 1

My name is Kaylei Jones ,  I'm 25 years old . I stay in a small town in Texas with my parents . I just graduated Law School and ready to move from my small town as soon as I can . Well, soon as I can convince my religious parents that I can handle myself .

Kaylei ... Kaylei I know you're up young lady , it's Sunday and your fathers is already at the church hurry up ! The First Lady can't be late and yes I'm riding with you . My mother Marie Jones yelled outside of my room door .

Yes ma, I'm putting on my heels and I'll be right down , I yelled as I hooked the buckle on my heels . I grabbed my purse looked into the mirror one more time and walked out the door . I walked down the stairs and I can hear my mom humming church songs as she sits at the table drinking her coffee .

Hmm , sweetie you don't want to put on some stockings , that dress is a little short don't you think , as she looked me up and down from the top of her glasses . Ma , I'm 25 , my dress is at my knees and my legs look fine , are you ready I said as I grabbed my keys off the table . Hmmm , I guess she said as she put her cup into the sink and walked towards the door . I shook my head and let out a low breath as I followed behind her .

Yea you guessed it , I'm a preachers kid . My father's been a pastor for as long as I can remember so my childhood was very strict. No extra curriculum activity because I had to study not only school work but the Bible also . Not summer vacations because the church always needed a helping hand . No parties , no football games , no school dances and especially no boyfriends. I have 2 friends to this day and that's Raven and Reagan their twin sisters . We been friends our whole lives , their father is my father's associate minister so we are always around each other . Almost the same lifestyle just those girls know how to sneak and have a good time , I'm too terrified to see what will happen if I do .

Speaking of Raven and Reagan I see them standing outside the church when I pull up .
Good morning girls , my mom said as she walks up to their mom Mrs. Turner . Good morning , First Lady they respond with a smile as they walk up me to me .

Damn Kay , you really need to come up with an excuse to come with us this weekend , Raven said . Huh ?!? What's this weekend , I said I as I turn my back to my mom . Duhh it's PV homecoming , you got to come , Raven said putting her hand on her hips . Exactly how do you think I'm going to be able to come there ; yet alone have anything to wear there , my parents will kill me and y'all know that , I said rolling my eyes . Well that's where I come in , I got you let me do the talking ,Reagan said smiling a little too hard . Girls , church is starting we got to get in the choir stand let's go , my mom said walking up behind me . Yes ma'am , we said as we walked into church .
