"Alright class, settle down. Let me take attendance." I sat on my stool and looked among my students.
Anderson. Check.
Bartey. Check.
Brooks. Check.
A few kids were gone. Odd.
Roberts. No answer.
Summers. Check
I got up and went to the yellow basket. I was shocked to see the notes overflowing. I picked them up and started reading.
Sav,
Lets hang out! Love you like a sister!
Most were pretty dumb. The last note was crinkled and torn around the edges. I picked it up and started reading. It was to Savannah Brooks and Alexis Summers.
Sav and Lexis,
Probably didnt cross your mind why im not at school.
I slowed down and read some more in my head.
If your wondering more, look in my locker. You probably won't, Savannah.
I stood up and motioned for the two girls to come with me. "Can you explain this?" I asked to them. Alexis was frowning and reading it. Savannah looked bored. She crossed her arms and stared up at me. "I have no clue what this is," she said. "I will go to her locker and see what there is to see, though." I sent them back in and told them to tell the class to quietly talk amongst themselves. I started to the office to get the combination code.
