"He's..." Jisung trailed off, trying to find the right words. Beautiful felt too shallow, though it was true — Minho was stunning in a way that knocked the breath from his lungs. But it was more than that. "He's... kind of reserved. Clumsy, but... in a cute way. And he's—he's just..." Jisung exhaled in frustration, raking his hand through his hair again. "I can't get him out of my head."
The silence that followed was only broken by Hyunjin's dramatic squeal. "Oh my god, you like like him."
Jisung groaned. "Shut up."
Seungmin leaned back, studying him with a sharp gaze. "This is unusual for you."
"Thanks for the analysis," Jisung muttered.
"No, really," Seungmin continued. "You flirt with everyone, but it never lasts. You've never been this... stuck."
Hyunjin wiggled his brows. "Which means it's serious."
Jisung buried his face in his hands. "Why did I tell you guys?"
⸻
Hyunjin flopped onto his stomach, chin propped on his hands. "So what is it about this Minho guy? Besides the obvious—" he gestured vaguely, "—you know, hotness."
Jisung peeked through his fingers. "He's... different. He's not like—he's not impressed by dumb lines or whatever. He's stubborn. And he—" Jisung's chest tightened. "He's amazing. He's nineteen, and he's already giving up everything to take care of his nephew."
Hyunjin's grin softened, surprised.
Seungmin's brows furrowed. "That's a lot for someone his age."
"Yeah," Jisung said quietly. "And he's... doing it. Even when he's exhausted, even when people stare at him like they don't understand. He's still—" He broke off, shaking his head. "I don't know. He's just... incredible."
The room was quiet for a moment.
Then Hyunjin whispered loudly, "You're in love."
"I am not—" Jisung started, but his voice cracked again. "He clutched a pillow and hurled it at Hyunjin, who dodged it with a cackle.
"Denial!" Hyunjin sang. "Classic symptom of falling hard."
"I just barely met the guy!"
"Doesn't matter!"
Seungmin rolled his eyes but smiled faintly. "Don't listen to him. But he's right about one thing — this sounds like more than just a crush."
⸻
Jisung slumped back, staring at the ceiling. "It's stupid. I don't even know him that well. He probably doesn't even—"
"Stop," Seungmin cut in firmly. "Don't talk yourself out of it before you've even tried."
Hyunjin nodded. "Yeah. If he's really on your mind this much, maybe that means something. And if he's as amazing as you say, he deserves someone who actually tries."
Jisung chewed on his lip, uncertain. "What if I mess it up? What if he thinks I'm just playing around?"
"Then prove you're not," Seungmin said simply.
Hyunjin grinned, poking Jisung's arm. "And hey — worst case, you get rejected. But best case? You get the guy you can't stop thinking about."
Jisung exhaled slowly, their words settling in his chest. For once, his usual easy confidence felt far away. This wasn't a game. This was... something else.
Maybe something real.
⸻
When Hyunjin and Seungmin finally left, still teasing him about being "whipped," Jisung lay on his bed staring at the ceiling. His guitar rested nearby, silent.
Minho's face appeared behind his eyes again — that small, reluctant smile, the way he'd held Jeongin's hand with such care, the tired determination that clung to him like a second skin.
Jisung's chest tightened.
For once in his life, he didn't want a fling or a distraction.
He wanted Minho.
And he wasn't sure what scared him more: the possibility of rejection, or the possibility of this actually being real.
