It's 2:30pm and the bell hasn't rung for sports? Great! now I have to sit in this boring physics class till God knows when. "Omg when is this bell going to ring?" Said the girl who sat to my right. "Turns out I am not the only one who is in haste to get out of Mr. Mark's boring class", I murmured. Optimistic that the bell would ring for Mr. Mark to leave, I took my phone to check the time, only for me to see a text from Alma. She ran out of class as usual and was waiting for me at our meeting point. Smiling to the message, I wondered how this idiot got me to be her best friend.
2:40pm, the bell rung for sports . "Finally!", clamored everyone. Before Mr. Mark could finish his last sentence, there was no soul left in the classroom. "These children", Mr. Mark muttered in disappointment. No one actually cared since our class had already been tagged as the "the most notorious class of all times".
I walked straight to the swimming pool sitting area where Alma sat waiting patiently for me; Alma and I sat at the swimming pool sitting area every Friday even before competitions began. We always sat at the front seat close to the pool, so we could count every single drop of water that ran down from the chest, through the abs and to the swim pants of our favorite competitors.
This time, our school was competing with one of the best boys' schools, Sharks High School. They were good academically, plus very good in sports; precisely swimming. They had a bigger swimming pool and a well trained coach compared to ours. My school, Wolfvers high, undeniably feared the Sharks. Because of this competition, they started training about 5 months ago. And today being the day of the competition, the students and competitors have been tensed.
Alma and I, so obsessed with sexy boys and abs were so enthused in await for the famous and "sexy" Sharks.
Gradually, the seats got full and the competition was about to begin. Alma and I on the other hand, couldn't help but to stare at the seats set aside for the Sharks, in anticipation that they would arrive soon. All of a sudden, the place that was as noisy as a market, became as quiet as a cemetery. "🎶They not like us, they not like us", some deep voices were singing from the back. Everyone stood up and turned facing the back eager to see the Sharks, while the Dj played the song, "they not like us" by Kendrick Lamar. As they hopped in to the beat of the song, everyone cheered them. Alma and I, star-struck, couldn't take eyes off the hot and sexy boys.
Time was far spent and the competition was about to begin. As Alma and I scanned through the competitors as usual, I saw my 5th grade crush, Lex. He was all grown now! Looking all hot and sexy, he was one of the competitors too. "Would he even remember me?", I wondered. While I couldn't get my eyes of Lex, Alma wouldn't stop pointing at any hot boy she sees," Omg Brit! Have you seen that guy?", "oh Brit look at those abs", Alma kept annoying me while my eyes were set only on Lex; I had a huge crush on him back in 5th and 6th grade, even though he was a pain in the ass. He always smelt nice and looked good but he was a rascal and he treated me like shit.
Before I snapped out of the memories, the competition had already begun.Wolfvers were cheering for Wolfvers , and Sharks were cheering for Sharks. Well, maybe just a few Wolfver girls cheered for The Sharks, of which Alma and I fell victim. The competition became tough when Lex and Martin, Alma's ex who apparently was a Wolfver, were on the same pace. Martin had won a lot of trophies and medals for himself and also Wolfvers. He's one of the best in the school's swimming team. Alma on the other hand, hated Martin because he cheated on her with one of the hottest girls on campus, Jackie. Jackie had a group of three, of which called themselves "HERS". They treated everyone like shit but they always easily got away with shit because Jackie's dad was the headmaster of Wolfvers.
