~ fast forward to a year and a half, at school during lunch ~

you haven't talked to matthew or joey in awhile, but you still had michelle and you're trusty best friend, madeline. all three of you were basically inseperable. you don't really talk to carol and emilia that much, but they're still my best friends. they didn't know though that you were always thinking about matthew and joey. which boy had your heart the most? is it ridiculous of me to still like them? no, you say in your head. you don't like them. you just think you do. the thought of both of them always bothered you, deep down you when crazy for them. you knew, you had to get over the two of them though, you just couldn't take it anymore.

"hey, hey, hEY!" michelle screaming at you.

"what? whAt? im sorry i was just-" you get cut by this tall figure standing by your side.

"hey michelle and caroline!" exclaims stephen.

stephen had been your best friend since you were in can remember. you guys were basically almost inseparable. you talked to him all the time and you always let out your feelings to him. you liked him when 8th grade started, but you knew it wouldn't work out because he just saw you as like a sister, his little sister. you teased him a lot so you played it off pretty cool that you liked him. actually, you kinda felt bad for him a lot because he hated being teased. he was sensitive, and that's what you loved about him.

"just nothing. caroline was into deep thought, so i had to snap her out of it," michelle told stephen.

"of course, like the usual," stephen smirkly said.

"hEY!" you exclaimed while punching him lightly on his left upper arm.

"ow, stop doing that. i was just kidding!" he said.

"sorry..." you mumbled sarcastically to yourself, even though you actually did feel sorry.

"what was that an apology i hear?" stephen went on, "whoa, someone pinch me this can't be real. caroline just apologized."

stephen and michelle laughed, but it was true. you hardly apologized for things because you wanted to stand firm and always be right.

"shut up, sam! before i punch you on the other arm!" you yelled echoing in the hallways.

"keep you voice, down," a supervising substitute said, "the lower graders are working. just get out of the hallway."

honestly, you found the substitutes utterly irritating because they where just impeccable. it was lunch time and whenever the youngsters had lunch, which was 5 minutes before yours began, they always played pranks on you and you hated them for it.

*ding dong ding* the end of lunch bell rung and it was time to get back to class.

"aw, fuck," you whispered to yourself.

you hated going back to class because it was switching periods and you're switching periods were the worst. in the morning, you had one teacher teaching two subjects, then you had an elective, physical education or some music shit. you hated the class schedules. after electives, it was break, just for about 15 minutes. then you went back to the same teacher. then lunch, then you're last 2 periods, but honestly you never concentrated in class. it was either you were too tired or you were in lalaland head over heels for stephen, which made you uncomfortable but made your heart flutter a little. flutter? shit! no, stop you can't have feelings for him, he's just your "brother" and that's all he will-.

*DING* you jump when you hear the bell telling you to switch classes. you could never concentrate in class. not as long as you were thinking about stephen...
