"Soft Persuasions"

Start from the beginning

Taehyung finally sat across from her, propping one arm casually on the table, his chin resting lightly against his hand. His eyes followed every move she made as Jisoo picked up the spoon with practiced grace, scooping a small portion of the mousse. She didn’t glance at him; instead, she focused on savoring the first bite. The sweetness melted against her tongue, rich and indulgent, but all the while, she could feel his gaze pressing against her.

She tried to ignore it, keeping her expression neutral, determined not to let him see the corners of her lips twitch upward. One spoonful became two, then three, her patience thinning under his silent insistence. He wasn’t even hiding it—his eyes were wide, hopeful, almost pleading, like a child waiting for a treat.

By the fourth spoonful, she sighed inwardly, defeated by his stubborn adorableness. With a deliberately blank face, Jisoo scooped a generous spoonful of mousse and, without saying a word, extended it toward him across the table. Inside, her heart skipped, her entire being screaming to lean forward and press a kiss against his cheek because he looked too cute like this—but she restrained herself.

The moment the spoon reached him, Taehyung’s entire face lit up. His lips parted immediately as he accepted the bite, his smile breaking wide and unguarded, his eyes crinkling with boyish delight. He looked so unabashedly happy—like a puppy finally getting its treat—that Jisoo had to duck her head to hide the smile tugging at her lips.

Jisoo dipped her spoon back into the mousse, scooping a neat portion for herself this time. She raised it slowly, savoring the smooth texture on her tongue while pretending not to notice the way Taehyung’s gaze was already fixed on her hand. Once she swallowed, she leaned back slightly, deliberately casual, then scooped another generous bite.

Without a word, she angled the spoon toward him again. His eyes lit up instantly, and he leaned forward eagerly, taking the bite as though it was the best thing he’d ever tasted. The smile that followed was almost smug, like he’d won a silent battle.

She rolled her eyes, but the warmth spreading through her chest betrayed her. “Don’t get used to this,” she muttered under her breath before stealing the next spoonful for herself, eating it with exaggerated enjoyment just to tease him.

But the moment she dipped the spoon back in, he tilted his head, waiting expectantly. Jisoo let out a long sigh, fighting a smile that threatened to give her away. Relenting, she brought the spoon to his lips again. He accepted it without hesitation, eyes twinkling as though sharing dessert like this was the most natural, intimate ritual in the world.

Back and forth it went—one bite hers, the next his. The rhythm grew unspoken, playful, and strangely comforting. For every spoonful she fed herself, she instinctively prepared the next one for him. He, in turn, received each offering with a grin that only grew wider, his happiness plain and contagious.

By the time the mousse was halfway gone, it didn’t feel like they were simply eating dessert. It felt like they were weaving a quiet secret between them, spoon by spoon, bite by bite—something sweet, soft, and entirely their own.

Taehyung’s hands gripped the steering wheel with casual ease, the city lights reflecting faintly against the windshield as the car hummed along the busy streets. Beside him, Jisoo’s posture was relaxed, though her fingers toyed absentmindedly with the hem of her sleeve. The soft glow from the dashboard cast a warm light across her face, and her voice broke the comfortable silence.

“So… do you want a big wedding?” she asked, tone casual but carrying a hint of curiosity.

He glanced at her briefly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “I’m fine with whatever you decide,” he replied, eyes back on the road, calm and steady.
