"Ihahatid na kita sa bahay ninyo Josh ayoko kasi na mag-iisa kang umuwi." Josh said to her after class.

"Sige."  she smiled.

While they were walking home, Katherine would always rant, and Josh would always listen.

"Alam mo yung teacher natin sa AP? Grabe naman, sinabi na mag kokopya tayo daw ng notes pero nagpa quiz naman siya at yung tipong mabilis pa siyang magsalita! What a joke, and how could this day get worse!"

She kept ranting on and on while Josh was looking at her beautiful face, but when he stepped on a stone and almost fell, he focused back on the road. They passed a restaurant nearby and Josh asked her.

"Nagugutom ka ba" J. asked her, raising his eyebrow.

"Oo, nagugutom ako, gusto kong kumain sa loob ng restaurant kaso wala akong pera..."

She frowned as she looked at her wallet with two 20 peso bills. "Don't worry, ililibre kita sa weekends, itetext nalang kita." He smiled.

Every weekend they went out together to eat in a restaurant. J. always pays the bill since his family is rich and money will not be a problem for them, and every time he does that, Katherine always tells him

"Thanks Josh! Ang sweet mo naman hindi naman kailangan eh may pera naman ako..."  She looked concerned, because Josh was constantly treating her in expensive restaurants and but Josh does not reply, but instead he smiles back. After that, they went to places like the Plaza and chatted about their academics or their life. They sat on a bench and they talked about their past.

"May tanong nga ako sayo Kath." He asked before sipping his coffee

"Hmm?" she raised her eyebrow.

"Bakit ako pala ang palaging basurero noon sa Elementary? Tanong ako ng tanong sayo noon pero wala kang sagot" He chuckled.

"Ang kulit mo noon eh, plus tamad kang tao noon okay? Wag ka nang magalit saakin, no hard feelings." She was defensive, and she laughed while Josh only stared at her. And after they had finished chatting with each other, they went home.

As time passed by, it was already their vacation. Before they entered school as Grade 12, Katherine called Josh on a Sunday night to be her companion to travel around Manila.

"Uy, May sasabihin ako sayo Josh."

"What is it?" he groaned. "Wala akong oras, gusto ko na matulog..." Josh answered, annoyed.

"O heto na, pumayag ang mga magulang ko na pwede ako daw mag travel around Manila, gusto mo sumama???" She said while smiling

"Oo na..." he said while Katherine was lit with excitement, and she could not contain her smile. And afterwards she replied. "Sige, magkita tayo sa entrance ng SM megama-" Before she could finish talking, Josh ended the call, and she said to herself. "Bastos netong lalaki na ito." She pouted. She was about to go to sleep, and a notification popped up on her phone: it was Josh. She opened up her Messenger, and she saw the text.

She placed her cellphone in the drawer and she slept. The next day, K. arrived around 7:15 am and waited for J. until 7:30 am, but he wasn't there. She became impatient and kept texting him.

He did not respond. It was already 8:00am and J. finally arrived.

"Hoy! Kanina pa ako text ng text sayo! Ang late mo! Hindi mo ba tinitignan ang oras mo?" She said with annoyance.

"Nandito na ako, nagmamadali ka ba...?" He laughed. "Hindi," she replied "Always punctual ako, kahit sa klase." She rolled her eyes, and she looked at her phone then she said to him.

"Saan tayo pupunta? First time 'kong ipasyal ang Manila." She saw the tall buildings and restaurants in Manila with amusement. "Kahit saan pwede! Ang rami pwedeng nating i-explore kagaya sa Rizal Park, sa Manila Cathedral, sa National Museum of Fine Arts, at iba pa. And don't worry nandito naman ako, I know the place very well. Halos every summer vacation dito ako sa Manila nag tatambay." She reassured her, while giving her a smile. The streets of Manila were busy, vendors advertising their food, people chatting, cars and jeeps honking at the highway. She nodded back at him, and they went on their journey.
