PREFACE
I just turned 17 this August 2025 and am currently a High School seminarian. This short story was supposedly a project for Humanities.
I wrote If only he had stayed because love doesn't always appear at the right time. It may sometimes appear when the person is ready to let go. It may also sometimes appear when it is already too late. A love that was transformed into love for all. This short story will also make you wonder the "what ifs?".
It shows that relationships sometimes don't work the way we would expect, and it often leads to misunderstandings, confusion, chaos, and eventually breakups. True love never fails; if it fails for the first time, it was never true love. Nevertheless, the best thing and the final act of love that you can give to that person is to let go of them finally. (Reoliquio, 2019)
I live inside of Formation House, where young men like me are trained to bear the knowledge and love Christ and bring it to those who do not know Him. I want to show to the whole world that love isn't always about romance, it is also sometimes sacrifice, and self-giving.
