Flower Myths

Introduction

     These are flower Myths I made up. They have a few Greek gods in them, depending on which I think would match each flower. A lot of them have something to do with love as their symbolization, so Hera and Aphrodite may be in a lot of these.

Snapdragon: Symbolizes strength, grace, and inner resilience, and sometimes deviousness. Name: Antirrhin. God/Goddess parent: Hera. Gender: Female

Larkspur: Symbolizes love, dedication, positivity, swiftness, an open heart, and strong bonds of love. Name: Delphini. God/Goddess parent: Hermes. Gender: Male.

Calendula: Symbolizes joy, hope, and new beginnings. Name: Calendula. God/Goddess parent: Apollo. Gender: Female

Dianthus: Symbolizes love, fascination, and distinction. Name: Dianthus. God/Goddess parent: Aphrodite. Gender: Male

Alyssum: Symbolizes worth beyond beauty. Name: Aurinia. God/Goddess parent: Hades. Gender: female

Bachelor Button/Cornflower: Symbolizes love, purity, healing, and protection. Name: Centaurea. God/Goddess parent: Demeter. Gender: male.

Pansy: Symbolizes remembrance, loving feelings, and free thinking. Name: Viola. God/Goddess parent: Hades. Gender: Female

Poppy: Symbolizes remembrance, sacrifice, and eternal rest. Name: Papaver. God/Goddess parent: None, a soldier given a flower by Ares and Athena for his work during war. Gender: male.

Stock: Symbolizes lasting beauty, lifelong happiness, affection, and contentment. Name: Matthiola. God/Goddess parent: Aphrodite. Gender: Female

Honeywort: Symbolizes protection and affection. Name: Cerinthe. God/Goddess parent: Artemis. Gender: male.

Cynoglossum: Symbolizes true love, remembrance, faithfulness, and enduring connection. Name: Cynogloss. God/Goddess parent: Eros. Gender: female

Foxglove: Symbolizes powerful duplicity of healing and harm. Name: Digitalis. God/Goddess parent: Dionysus. Gender: Male

Nasturtium: Symbolizes patriotism, conquest, victory, and passion. Name: Tropaeol. God/Goddess parent: Ares. Gender: Female.

There are 13 flowers listed, meaning 13 stories. If you have any other flowers you would like me to make into a myth, comment it under this introduction. I will @ whoever asked for the flower when I make it. It will be done after all of these stories. This may take me a while to do. I will also add one for the Sweet Pea flower, which is one being done for a school assignment in Greek mythology, which is what gave me the idea to do this. It gives me something to do in my basically full schedule. I hope you enjoy these when they are posted.
