Pete rests on the hood of an old abandoned truck. It was 11:38 pm. He didn't expect anyone to be out—not a human, anyway. Just the usual delinquent vampires he avoided. He'd never partake in whatever they were doing, he kept to himself. He hadn't yet feasted on a person; he was living off of animal blood. He didn't want to be like the others. He didn't want to stoop that low. Either way, he was hungry. Really hungry. He hadn't been able to eat anything to sustain himself. He could only find mice and other mediocre animals; he was starving. Pete felt as though he was losing his mind.

"Fuck," Pete thought. "I wish I could find something else to eat..."

It's true. He's been hiding from the other Vampires; He couldn't stand their way of living... It sickened him. They didn't give a damn about others. every living thing was just another meal in their eyes.

Suddenly, Pete hears a crunch and his guard immediately goes up. He dashes like lightning to hide atop a tree hoping to avoid any conflict or injury.

"What are these idiots doing in the forest? Nobody roams through here anyway.. I mean sure teenagers go through here to make out every once in a while but.. never this deep into the forest!  They would know better!" he hissed to himself trying to make sense of what that crunch was. "I mean.. maybe it was an animal.. But it was too big of a crunch! No way!"

*crunch*

He heard it again. Distinct footsteps. Human footsteps. The vampires have a certain lightly-weighted stepping pattern. Their footwork was not at all like that of a humans. He knew what lingered below him. Then suddenly, his curiosity got the best of him.
