Katie Turner: Main Character
Katie is strong-willed, emotional, and deeply loyal to the people she loves. She wears her heart on her sleeve, often caught between following her head and following her heart. Though she sometimes doubts herself, Katie has a quiet resilience that always pushes her forward. Her summers at Cousins shaped her—filled with friendship, heartbreak, and self-discovery—and at the center of it all has always been the boy who lingers in her heart.

Katie studies at her local university alongside her best friend Jessie and many of her classmates from their small hometown. Life feels simple, familiar, and safe—until one day, everything changes.

Sammy: Main Character
Sammy is warm, loyal, and quietly complicated. With a natural charm and an easy smile, he's the kind of person people feel drawn to, but behind that is a depth he doesn't always let others see. He loves deeply, sometimes to the point of holding on too tightly, and often finds himself caught between who he is and who he wants to be. Summers at Cousins shaped him just as much as they did Katie—filled with friendship, heartbreak, and the kind of choices that can change everything.

Jessie:
Jessie is the kind of best friend everyone wishes they had—funny, outspoken, and endlessly supportive. She has a sharp wit and a big heart, often serving as the glue that holds the group together. Jessie isn't afraid to say the things Katie sometimes won't, pushing her to face truths she might otherwise run from. Beneath her playful energy, Jessie quietly carries her own battles, but she always shows up for the people she loves.

Cameron:
Cameron is smart, steady, and often the voice of reason in the group, though he has his impulsive moments. Protective of his sister Katie, he sometimes struggles to balance being supportive with letting her make her own choices. While he puts on a confident front, Cameron quietly wrestles with his own insecurities about love, friendship, and the future. His summers at Cousins are just as much about finding himself as they are about protecting the people he loves most.

Nate:
Nate is steady, dependable, and often the voice of reason within the group. He has a laid-back charm that makes him easy to be around, but underneath his calm exterior is someone who notices more than he lets on. Loyal to his friends and protective of the people he cares about, Nate is the kind of person who shows up when it matters most.

Magcon Boys:
Carter, Nash, Matthew, Jack G, and Jack J also weave their way into the story. While their roles in Katie's life may be smaller, the joy, laughter, and love they bring to her and Jessie are unforgettable—and always treasured. A new character is also introduced further into the story.
