"Click clack"
"Presentation on Leap Year birthdays by Aishwarya and Savithri". They typed onto the desktop keyboard.Savithri looked up and turned to Aishwarya, with a quizzical look on her face.
"Why are we doing this?", she asked, gently moving away from the keyboard on her rotating desk chair.
"...Why are we?" Aishwarya took a moment to think, but didn't dwell much on it. I mean, they had to get work done.
Coincidentally,the entire room went silent.
It took a few flat seconds for everybody to go back to their own tasks. It seemed like Savithri's words somehow put them all into a trance.
"Anyways, Let's focus on fin-" Aishwarya awkwardly tried to get Savithri back to work.
"Yo. No. I'm not doing this. Class ends in five minutes anyways.Let's just look at some cat GIFs"
"Yeah, you're right" Aishwarya gave in.

The end of the day was marked by the horrendous screeching of the school bell. "Gosh! That takes the life out of me EVERY SINGLE TIME!" Soundarya exclaimed, distastefully shoving her books in her bag.
Aishwarya and Soundarya swarmed around Savithri's desk, eager to leave to the comfort of their homes.
"Okay, Let's go home! Van route?" Soundarya asked.
The both of them nodded.
"So what did you guys do in the Website committee today?" Soundarya asked, with a slight tinge of irritation, pent up from all the disappointing answers for the same questions- "Meh" ; "PPTs, Presentations".
"Actually, we don't know,Sou. What did we do?"Savithri turned to Aishwarya, puzzled and hazy. Aishwarya deadpanned, her lips shut into a tight straight line."Hey don't give me tha-"
"No, seriously."
"Wasn't being serious... but whatevs" Soundarya shrugged and carried on, her eyes carrying the same awkwardness from the conversation.
"No, like, What are we even doing, Aish? In that wretched computer lab?"
Savithri complained, knitting her eyebrows in confusion and frustration. Something about today's session was clearly bothering her.
"Playing that 'no internet' dinosaur game?" Aishwarya suggested, sceptically looking around.
"Hmm...okay." Soundarya nodded, like her answer would suffice for today and waved the both of them goodbye.
"Van's here. See ya!"

The class was quiet until the morning bell rang. "Ugh the morning assembly is going to go on forever" Savithri groaned, standing up in her place. The class enjoyed elongating the school prayer, more than it already was.
A classic tradition in all Indian schools.
The day's classes went like a breeze until lunch....
"Students! Hurry up and form a line for lunch! Upstairs, move, move!" The teacher yelled while, of course, 'banging the duster, herding the sheep'. The students clumsily arranged themselves into more like a group, and less line-like, travelling up the stairs in duos and trios.
"What did you guys get for lunch today? I, for one, am starving." Soundarya said, while settling her lunch bag on their usual table, facing the locked door on one end of the room.
