Recap time. I have explained how it started and how things are going now but I haven't really explained what happened. So let's get into it.
The year was 2010 and like I told you in the beginning Charlotte and Engfa had meet during their time at Vogue Thailand. They hit it off right away, their connection so strong, it was undeniable since the beginning. Those weeks had a lot of skinship and a lot of gazes until one day Charlotte was brave enough to put everything into words. This happened around 2 months in (and thank god this is not Show Me Love, where they made us wait for too long for that confession).
It happened at a party. It's irrelevant whose party was this. They had been drinking, and maybe, just maybe, they had shared half a pill of something. I can't be sure about it but it would certainly explain the mood. There's actually a picture from that night. There are a bunch of people sitting on a couch, looking at the camera, Char and Engfa in the middle, right next to each other, their hands barely touching. They look so beautiful you might wonder why they weren't on the cover of the magazine they worked for. You could never tell but they both clearly remember, whenever they go back to that picture, the electricity they were feeling at that exact moment (they both go back to that picture quite often). The absolute need they felt for each other at that point.
No longer after the picture was taken, Charlotte, our brave princess, took Engfa to a window, where the noise of the music was much lower, and without any previous announcement just spilled it out.
What's going on between us P'Fa?
Finally. Out, in the open.
You are feeling this too, aren't you?
There. Loud and clear.
Oh!!! So I'm not going crazy!— That was P'Fa first reaction.
No, you are not going crazy. I'm feeling it too. I just couldn't keep going without saying something. This is a first for me— said Charlotte.
It's for me too— said Engfa.
They started to laugh. Relieved. Happy. Maybe that pill they shared earlier had something to do too. 15 years later, they would both remember those minutes, overlooking the river (I said it was a window but it was actually a balcony, overlooking the Chao Phraya River), laughing, looking into each other's eyes and saying out loud what they had been holding back for the past few weeks.
What are we going to do about this?— asked Charlotte.
Well, first, what is this? That was Engfa laughing.
Does this mean we like each other?— asked Charlotte.
I guess we do!— said Engfa. It was driving me crazy, to be completely honest. Thank you for speaking up.
I couldn't handle it anymore— said Char.
It 's been intense— the smile on Engfa's face was beautiful.
Tell me about it— Charlotte's smile was perfect too.
Some people came to the balcony, so the conversation ended there. Then they went back inside, dancing, and laughing with friends, looking at each other, this time knowingly, self aware, sharing their recently confessed affection.
It was Engfa the one that got courageous then and in the middle of a song, grabbed Charlotte's hand, drove her through the crowd and led them into a room.
She closed the door behind her and without turning on the light, right there in the middle of the room, kissed Charlotte.
It wasn't a passionate kiss. It was very soft and gentle but intense. So no Lookmhee-Sonya Harmony Secret vibes, but also, not Lingorm Only You first kiss. Think more of Freenbecky on The Loyal Pin. So a good real kiss but not too much. Even if they had already said it out loud they were both still a bit insecure of what it was and how they were supposed to continue. Actually that was going to be the whole problem but let's not get ahead.
It was a great kiss. It felt right. It felt like butterflies but also it felt safe.
Someone opened the door, letting the light fill the room.
ขอโทษ (khǎw-thôt), we were looking for our bags— dosen't matter who was that, but that Sorry in Thai is one of the few things I've learned thanks to GLs.
Oh, yes, we are looking for our bags too but can't find the light— said Charlotte, and with that, they both escaped the room laughing and holding hands, back to the dance floor.
They felt happy. Complete.
That night, each one back home, felt satisfied. It was a little step but it felt right. It felt good. This was going somewhere and they were happy about it.
Charlotte went back to work on Monday thinking of Engfa as her girlfriend. I mean, they hadn't spoken about it but it was obvious, right? They were dating now.
Well, they weren't. At least not according to Engfa.

FanfictionEngfa and Charlotte are always the best pairing, even in fiction. In this alternative reality they met, fell in love and then something went wrong but maybe a few years later they can make things finally right.
