Things That Scare Us
Whether it be dark alleys
Or that one person in the corner
Fear is the fuel to troubles
Fear is the gas to an explosion
That soon goes off in your mind
Breaking your every sense
Hurting your every moral
Death intimidates us
As if moving on
Is a punishment for the wrong
We all have done
Cancer is like a starvation
To happy and long lasting lives
Everyone gets scared
Thinking that they might be next
That pain in your stomach
Confuses you
Scares you into wondering
Looking at the possiblity that something
Is very, very wrong
The thoughts you may have
As unpleasant as they are
Lead to meds
And looks of pity
Some actions bring out
The fact that life scares you
Death
Cancer
That pain
Those thoughts
It's all real
Very real within us
And that is why
As a nation of humans
As a world of creatures
Are scared of life
In every way
