The next morning, Nut walked into school with that same dull weight pressing on his chest.
He had slept barely a few hours. Every time he closed his eyes, Lego's smile from yesterday flashed in his mind - that bright, happy grin when he had announced he was dating Diamond.
It should have been enough to break Nut cleanly, to make him finally let go.
But he couldn't. The ache was stubborn.
He slid into his seat, dropping his bag with a thud. Around him, classmates chattered about the upcoming sports meet. He didn't bother joining in - until Hong leaned against his desk.
"Morning," Hong said softly, almost testing the word.
Nut looked up, surprised. Hong wasn't usually the type to hover, but today, his presence felt deliberate... steady.
For a second, Nut's gaze got caught on Hong's eyes - warm brown, but sharper when they focused like this. Something stirred in Nut's chest, unfamiliar yet strangely familiar.
"You look like you didn't sleep," Hong observed.
Nut smirked faintly, trying to play it off. "Maybe I didn't."
Hong tilted his head. "Lego?"
Nut froze. "...How do you-"
"I was there," Hong said simply. "I saw your face."
Nut tried to laugh, but it came out hollow. "Guess I'm not good at hiding things."
"You're... better at enduring them," Hong replied. The way he said it - low, deliberate - made Nut glance at him again, really look this time.
There was no pity in Hong's eyes. Just... understanding.
The bell rang before Nut could answer, and Hong moved away, slipping back into his seat.
But throughout the lesson, Nut found his attention drifting - not to Lego in the next row, but to the quiet figure a few seats over, the one who had noticed his pain without being told.
It wasn't love. Not yet.
But a spark had landed, somewhere deep,
and Nut wasn't sure if he wanted to put it out.
It's kinda Desire ❤️
